How to connect Ghost to Orchly

Connect your Ghost site with an Admin API key so Orchly agents can publish posts directly.

Updated on September 28, 2026

To connect Ghost to Orchly, create a custom integration in Ghost Admin, copy its Admin API key, and paste it with your site URL into Settings → Integrations → Ghost. Agents can then publish posts and pages to your Ghost blog, with tags and authors, and fix SEO fields on existing posts.

How do I get a Ghost Admin API key?

  1. In Ghost Admin, go to Settings → Integrations.
  2. Add a custom integration and give it a name, like “Orchly”.
  3. Copy the Admin API Key.
  4. Note your site’s address, for example https://yourblog.ghost.io or your own domain.
Admin key, not Content key

Ghost shows two keys on a custom integration. The Content API key is read-only. Orchly needs the Admin API Key to publish.

How do I connect Ghost?

  1. In Orchly, go to Settings → Integrations and click Configure on Ghost.
  2. Paste the key into Ghost Admin API Key.
  3. Enter your address in Ghost Site URL.
  4. Click Connect Ghost.

The badge turns to Connected, and the drawer’s Details section shows the site.

To replace the key later, open the drawer, paste a new one and click Save changes. If you leave the key field blank, Orchly keeps the saved key.

What can agents do in Ghost?

  • Publish posts and pages, as drafts or live.
  • Set tags and authors, like tagging a new post with “SEO”.
  • Update existing posts, for example adding fresh stats to last week’s article.
  • Fix SEO fields on a post or page: meta title, meta description, Open Graph fields and the canonical URL. The Site Health Agent uses this when it finds a missing or weak description.

Ghost appears under Can post to in an agent’s Tools & data. Orchly asks before it publishes. See publishing agent output.

Live posts are public

A live publish goes straight to your Ghost site. Until you trust an agent’s output, keep it on drafts and review them in Ghost or in Documents.

Troubleshooting

ProblemWhat to check
Connection failsMake sure you copied the Admin API Key, not the Content key, and that the site URL has no typo.
Posts go to the wrong siteThe Ghost Site URL points somewhere else. Update it in the drawer.
A fix didn’t applyOrchly finds posts by their slug. If you changed a post’s URL in Ghost, run the fix again against the new URL.

To remove Ghost, open its drawer and click Disconnect. For other publishing options, see the integrations overview.
