Writesonic alternatives are worth a look if you like having AI visibility tracking and an article writer in one subscription but need more than the self-serve plans give you. Every plan below Enterprise, Growth at $399 a month included, tracks only ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. The listed prices are annual (monthly billing is about $99, $249 or $499), sentiment starts on Growth, and the full Action Center and agentic workflows need an Enterprise contract.
These 10 Writesonic alternatives track more engines for less, go deeper on AI visibility, or take more of the work off your hands. Prices checked in November 2026.
How we tested these Writesonic alternatives
We set Writesonic up first, then signed up for Peec AI, Promptwatch, Profound, Otterly.AI and Scrunch and ran the same buyer prompts through each. For every tool we looked at:
- Which engines and how many prompts you get on the plan you can actually buy
- Whether you can write, refresh and publish content from the same place
- How much of the follow-up work it does for you, and what it really costs each month
AthenaHQ needed a sales call, so for it, Searchable, Frase and Surfer we went by pricing pages, docs, demo videos and what brands we work with told us. Review quotes are condensed from G2, Capterra and Trustpilot and link to the original.
Orchly is our product. We judged it on the same points and say where it falls short. Prices and features checked in November 2026.

1. Orchly: best Writesonic alternative for agentic AI search optimization
Orchly is an agentic AI search optimization platform. It tracks your brand across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and other AI engines, and its agents run on their own, on a schedule, across the whole loop.
They analyze your AI visibility, your competitors and your Search Console and GA4 data. They decide which pages to write or refresh and do it in your brand voice, keep Brand Brain up to date, find the sites, people and Reddit threads worth reaching, run the outreach, and audit your site for technical SEO and AI search issues. You decide whether each agent runs on its own or waits for your approval.
Writesonic gives you a tracker, an article writer and a to-do list in the Action Center. Orchly's agents run the work end to end, from $49 a month.
Deeper AI visibility on every plan
- Engines. ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews are included from $49, with Gemini, AI Mode, Claude, Grok and Copilot as add-ons (Orchly also tracks Meta AI and DeepSeek). On Writesonic, Perplexity, Claude and AI Mode need Enterprise.
- Prompts by brand and intent. Branded vs non-branded, and commercial, informational or transactional.
- Perception and fact check. Writesonic gates sentiment to Growth. Orchly shows attributes, objections, and AI claims checked against your Brand Brain.
- Citations, Mention Gap and fan-outs. Every source AI cites, the ones that skip you, and the background searches behind each answer.
- AI shopping. Your products in ChatGPT shopping answers. Writesonic's Agentic Commerce tracking is Enterprise only.
Content that comes from your data
- Content Agent. Decides what to write and refresh from your prompts, citations and decaying pages, then the AI article writer drafts it in your voice and publishes to WordPress, Webflow, Framer, Wix, Sanity or Ghost.
Beyond content
- Activation Agent. Outreach to the publishers, Reddit threads and YouTube videos AI cites, from your own inbox.
- Site Health Agent. Technical and AI search fixes across every page.
- Search Console and GA4. Writesonic connects GA4 only on Enterprise. Orchly shows Search Console and GA4 data, including revenue, on every plan.

| Engines on entry plan | ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews | ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overviews |
| Perplexity, Claude, AI Mode | Perplexity included; Claude and AI Mode add-ons | Enterprise only |
| Sentiment and perception | All plans, with fact check | Growth ($399) and up |
| Agents | Run on a schedule: content, outreach, Reddit, site health | 10 to 100 trial runs; full access on Enterprise |
| Citation outreach | Activation Agent | Action Center trial on Growth (5 off-page actions a month) |
| AI shopping | ChatGPT shopping | Enterprise only |
| GA4 | All plans | Enterprise only |

Where Orchly falls short
- Fewer prompts at entry. Writesonic Starter includes 50 prompts and 15 articles. Orchly Essential includes 25 prompts and 20 articles.
- Less writing flexibility. Writesonic has many more writing templates and formats beyond SEO articles.
Pricing: Essential $49/month. Pro $125/month (100 prompts, 50 articles, 5 users). 7-day free trial.
See Orchly pricing or start a free trial.
2. Peec AI: best for tracking accuracy
Peec AI is an AI search analytics platform for marketing teams and agencies, and it's the alternative we'd point Writesonic users to when the tracking matters more than the writing.
We ran it on the same buyer prompts we track in Writesonic. Setup took a few minutes, and visibility, position and sentiment against competitors filled in per engine.
The engine choice is the first thing a Writesonic user notices. Peec Starter lets you pick any 3 of ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, AI Mode, AI Overviews and Naver AI. Perplexity is a paid extra on top, which still costs far less than an Enterprise contract.
Sentiment is on every plan too, where Writesonic keeps it for Growth. What you give up is the writer. Actions hands you a ranked list of fixes, and someone on your team still writes the pages.
Key features
- Model choice. Any 3 engines per plan, with more available for a monthly fee.
- Source analytics. Cited domains and URLs labelled as owned, editorial, reference or UGC.
- Actions. Ranked suggestions for pages, threads and content gaps, added in February 2026.
- Brand Perception and GA4 AI referrals. Both added in September 2026.
- MCP server since April 2026, plus a Looker Studio connector from Advanced.
- Unlimited seats on every plan.
Where it falls short
- No article writing or publishing.
- 3 engines per plan, and Claude and Grok are paid upgrades.
- No Search Console data next to the AI answers.
User reviews
“The analytics give our whole team a shared picture of where our GEO work stands, and new features keep arriving.” (Source)
“Prompt tracking is reliable and setup was simple. I don't trust the Actions recommendations yet, because I'm not sure they understand our business well enough to say what we should write.” (Source)
“I still have to use Semrush for prompt volume research.” (Source)
Pricing
- Starter: €85/month for 50 prompts and 3 engines
- Pro: €205/month for 150 prompts
- Advanced: €425/month for 350 prompts and Looker Studio
- Unlimited users on every plan. Enterprise adds all models, API access and SSO.
3. AthenaHQ: best for many engines
AthenaHQ is a Y Combinator-backed AI search platform with a free plan and 11 engines on its $295 Starter plan, including the Perplexity and Claude coverage Writesonic keeps for Enterprise.
AthenaHQ routed our sign-up to a sales call, so this section is based on its pricing page, docs, demo videos and G2 reviews.
According to the docs, setup starts from your domain. Athena writes a brand profile, suggests about 10 competitors and drafts 10 prompts, and every metric links to the stored answers behind it.
Next to Writesonic, you trade article volume for coverage. Starter includes a content optimization agent and on-page and off-page actions, but the pricing page lists no monthly article allowance. It also runs on credits, and one credit is one AI response, so 3,600 a month go faster than they sound.
Key features
- 11 engines on Starter. ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Copilot, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral.
- Free plan. Essentials gives 300 credits on 5 engines.
- Content optimization agent and on-page and off-page actions on Starter.
- GA4 and Search Console to connect AI visibility with site traffic.
- Unlimited seats on every plan, the free one included.
- ChatGPT Ads and Shopping Pages, added in August 2026.
Where it falls short
- There's no plan between free and $295 a month.
- Self-serve plans cover one country.
- Personas, the recommendation engine, the Athena Citation Engine and BI exports are Enterprise only.
User reviews
“Mention rate, citation rate and share of voice are one click away, and the competitor view is something I check every Monday morning.” (Source)
“It shows us where to focus our GEO work. There's so much in the platform that it can feel overwhelming, though.” (Source)
“The outreach generator writes generic draft messages.” (Source)
Pricing
- Essentials: free, with 300 credits on 5 engines
- Starter: $295/month, about $245 billed yearly, for 3,600 credits on 11 engines
- Enterprise: custom pricing
4. Promptwatch: best tracking plus content at a mid price
Promptwatch is an AI search visibility platform that tracks every major model on every plan and adds content writing and AI crawler data from its Professional plan, which makes it the closest match to Writesonic's mix of tracking and writing.
We signed up for the 7-day trial. You enter your URL, pick 5 prompts, and it collects answers from the chatbots' own interfaces rather than through APIs.
Coming from Writesonic, the model list is the big change. Even the $95 Essential plan lists ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google, Claude, Gemini, Meta and DeepSeek.
The writing costs more, though. Content writing and refresh, the knowledge base and Agent Analytics start on Professional at $245. Essential's 6,000 responses a month also won't cover 50 prompts on all seven models every day, so we ran fewer models. The dashboards are dense, and we spent most of our time in Citations Analysis.
Key features
- All models on every plan. ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google, Claude, Gemini, Meta and DeepSeek.
- Citations Analysis. Which of your pages and which third-party sources AI pulls into answers.
- Content writing and refresh, grounded in a knowledge base, from Professional.
- Agent Analytics. AI crawler visits to your pages through log integrations, from Professional.
- MCP and API on every plan, plus Search Console, WordPress, Webflow, Framer and Slack.
Where it falls short
- Content writing needs the $245 plan.
- 6,000 responses on Essential limit how many models you can run daily.
- Shopping Insights, Ads Radar and city-level tracking start on Business at $579, sold by demo.
- The interface takes a few days to learn.
User reviews
“It's like a Swiss army knife for us. Setup was easy, the first prompts were relevant, and the MCP and skills work really well.” (Source)
“There are plenty of integrations for crawler logs and a native MCP, but the tokens run out quickly.” (Source)
“Useful recommendations, but a lot of features are still being worked on.” (Source)
Pricing
- Essential: $95/month for 50 prompts, 6,000 responses and 1 project
- Professional: $245/month for 150 prompts, 18,000 responses, 2 projects and content writing
- Business: $579/month for 350 prompts and 5 projects, by demo
- Essential and Professional come with a 7-day free trial.
5. Searchable: best all-in-one at $125
Searchable is a London-based AI visibility platform that bundles prompt tracking, page audits and article writing in one plan, which makes it one of the closest like-for-like swaps for Writesonic.
We haven't tested Searchable ourselves, so this comes from its pricing page, docs and Trustpilot reviews.
For $125 a month, Pro gets you 100 tracked prompts per model, 20 articles and 200 page audits, with daily tracking and unlimited seats. Writesonic's nearest plan, Basic, is $199 a month billed yearly for 100 prompts, 25 articles and 2 users.
ChatGPT, AI Overviews and Perplexity are included. Copilot, DeepSeek, AI Mode, Gemini, Grok and Claude cost extra, and the cheaper Claude Lite and Grok Lite options answer from training data with web search off, so they don't show live citations.
Key features
- Three engines included. ChatGPT, AI Overviews and Perplexity, with six more as add-ons.
- Content Studio. 20 articles a month on Pro.
- Technical audits. 200 page audits a month on Pro.
- Agent Analytics and AI shopping data on every plan.
- Integrations. GA4, Search Console and WordPress, plus MCP and API on every plan.
Where it falls short
- Only three engines before add-ons.
- 12 months of data retention on Pro.
- White-label reports and Looker Studio start on the $400 Scale plan.
- Some users report a buggy content editor and billing trouble.
User reviews
“It's easy to use without a technical background, because I can ask the agent whenever I don't understand something.” (Source)
“The content editor breaks every time, and at over $100 a month for the cheapest plan, that isn't acceptable.” (Source)
“My 14 days went well, but after I cancelled it still tried to charge my card, and I couldn't remove it.” (Source)
Pricing
- Pro: $125/month for 100 prompts per model, 20 articles and 1 project
- Scale: $400/month for 500 prompts per model, 80 articles and 10 projects
- Enterprise: from $999/month for 1,250 prompts per model and 200 articles
- Pro and Scale have a 14-day free trial. Extra models are paid add-ons.
6. Frase: best budget writer
Frase is an SEO and GEO content platform that researches, writes, publishes and refreshes articles from $39 a month billed yearly, which makes it the cheapest writing-first alternative to Writesonic on this list.
We know Frase from its pricing page, docs and user reviews, not from our own trial.
Frase launched a new version of its platform in January 2026. It now works as an agent that drafts articles in your voice and, if you switch it on, publishes them to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity or Wix by itself.
The part Writesonic doesn't have is Content Guard. It watches your pages for Google rank and traffic decay, writes the fix and republishes it once you approve.
AI visibility tracking is lighter. Starter tracks 20 prompts on ChatGPT and Google AI, Professional adds Perplexity, and Claude and Gemini need Scale at $239 a month billed yearly. The tracking sends alerts but doesn't fix anything.
Key features
- Agent writing and auto-publish. 10, 40 or 100 articles a month, depending on plan.
- Content Guard. Watches 10, 75 or 300 pages for decay and drafts the fix.
- SEO and GEO scores for new drafts and existing pages, with 50 audit pages a month on Starter.
- AI Visibility. 20, 50 or 75 tracked prompts, monitored daily.
- MCP server and CLI on every plan.
- FraseCMS. Free hosting for up to 100,000 page views a month.
Where it falls short
- Starter tracks only ChatGPT and Google AI, and Claude and Gemini start on Scale.
- 1 seat and 1 site on Starter, with no reporting history.
- AI crawler monitoring starts on Professional.
User reviews
“Frase helped me scale my content output a lot, and the AI Visibility suite shows clearly how often LLMs cite us.” (Source)
“It's easy to use, but I didn't see any benefit from the content it generated in a very competitive market.” (Source)
“Lifetime customers were effectively abandoned, with little more than an apology.” (Source)
Pricing
- Starter: $39/month billed yearly ($49 monthly) for 10 articles, 20 prompts and 1 seat
- Professional: $103/month billed yearly ($129 monthly) for 40 articles, 50 prompts and 3 seats
- Scale: $239/month billed yearly ($299 monthly) for 100 articles, 75 prompts and 5 seats
- 7-day free trial with no card. Yearly billing saves 20%.
7. Surfer: best for on-page optimization
Surfer is an AI SEO content editor with a built-in AI Tracker, best known for scoring drafts against the pages that already rank, and it suits Writesonic users who care most about on-page optimization.
We know Surfer from its pricing page, docs and reviews rather than our own trial.
The plans split writing and tracking in a way that takes a minute to work out. Standard, at $99 a month billed yearly, has the content editor but only 25 prompts on ChatGPT, refreshed weekly. Daily tracking on ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Mode, AI Overviews and Gemini starts on Pro at $182, or on the standalone AI Search Analytics plan at $82, which has no content tools.
Claude isn't tracked on any plan. Mention Gap and brand sentiment come with every plan that has AI tracking.
Key features
- Content Editor and Content Score. Real-time guidance against top-ranking pages, with 1-click optimization.
- AI Tracker. ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Mode, AI Overviews and Gemini, daily from Pro.
- Mention Gap and Brand Sentiments on plans with AI tracking.
- Brand Knowledge and custom voices to keep drafts on brand.
- Content Audit and ranking drop alerts for pages you already have.
Where it falls short
- No Claude tracking.
- Standard tracks ChatGPT only, once a week.
- API access is only on Peace of Mind at $299 a month billed yearly.
- Several reviewers complain about price increases.
User reviews
“The Content Editor is the standout. It makes structuring content and finding gaps much easier.” (Source)
“A super simple interface that keeps up with AI trends, though the AI tracking still doesn't fully make sense to us.” (Source)
“Our price went from €66 to over €230 a month while analyses failed and recommendations got more generic. Support was excellent, though.” (Source)
Pricing
- Discovery: $49/month billed yearly for 120 documents, with no AI tracking
- Standard: $99/month billed yearly, with 25 ChatGPT prompts refreshed weekly
- Pro: $182/month billed yearly, with 50 prompts on 5 engines refreshed daily
- AI Search Analytics: $82/month billed yearly for tracking only. Monthly billing costs more on every plan.
8. Profound: best enterprise alternative
Profound is an enterprise AI visibility platform with AI Marketer agents that draft and publish content, for large brands that want Writesonic's mix of tracking and content at enterprise depth.
We tested it on the 7-day trial. Profound picked 50 prompts for our industry, we couldn't edit them, and only ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews ran, the same three engines Writesonic gives you below Enterprise.
The interface is polished, and getting from a prompt to the sources behind it took one click. Prompt Volumes, which estimates how often people ask a question, stood out, because Writesonic limits AI search volume to five one-time runs below Enterprise.
Since September 2026, brands can only buy Profound through sales.
Key features
- Nine engines on Enterprise. ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Mode, Gemini, Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude, AI Overviews and Exa.
- Prompt Volumes. Demand estimates from 1.5 billion+ prompts in 35 countries, updated weekly.
- AI Marketer. Agents that draft and publish content, set up from a plain-language request since October 2026.
- Context Manager. Learns your brand from your documents and synced data, on Enterprise.
- Agent Analytics. AI crawler activity on your site.
Where it falls short
- No self-serve plan for brands.
- The trial runs preset prompts on three engines, with no history or exports.
- Agent work draws on credits, which moved to credit wallets in October 2026.
- MCP, exports, API and SSO are Enterprise only.
User reviews
“It ships new features faster than the better-known competitors, and the API lets us run our content workflows much quicker.” (Source)
“Finding where things live in the product takes a learning curve, because the metrics and terms are so new.” (Source)
“I'd like more flexibility in how reports segment the data.” (Source)
Pricing
- Brands: custom Enterprise pricing through sales
- Agencies: a separate self-serve Agency Growth plan
- Trial: 7 days free, with 50 preset prompts on ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews
9. Otterly.AI: best budget tracker
Otterly.AI is a low-cost AI search monitoring tool for small teams and agencies, and at $29 a month it tracks Perplexity and Copilot, which Writesonic only covers on Enterprise.
We used Otterly on the same prompts. We added our brand, it suggested competitors and prompts, and the first report was ready in about 15 minutes.
It tracks and audits, and the writing stays with you. You get coverage, position and sentiment against competitors, a Brand Visibility Index that sorts brands into Leaders, Niche or Low Performance, and page checks with suggested fixes.
If you came to Writesonic for the articles, Otterly won't replace that part. If you came for the tracking, it covers more engines for a fraction of the price, although AI Mode, Gemini and Claude are paid add-ons.
Key features
- Four engines included. ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot on every plan.
- Brand Visibility Index. Every brand sorted into Leaders, Niche or Low Performance.
- GEO audit and recommendations for your URLs, capped at 3 recommendations a week on Lite.
- Agent Analytics. AI crawler visits from your server logs, added in August 2026.
- Looker Studio connector, plus API and MCP from Standard.
Where it falls short
- 15 prompts on the $29 Lite plan.
- AI Mode, Gemini and Claude are add-ons, so all 7 engines on Standard come to about $416 a month.
- No content writing or outreach.
User reviews
“The dashboard is clean, and it's easy to compare our AI visibility with competitors and spot openings.” (Source)
“Seeing the exact response for each prompt is a game changer, but I can't track how each prompt performs over time.” (Source)
“The jump to €189 a month for Standard is a stretch for a small agency, and Lite doesn't have enough room.” (Source)
Pricing
- Lite: $29/month for 15 prompts
- Standard: $189/month for 100 prompts
- Premium: $489/month for 400 prompts
- Engine add-ons cost extra. Yearly billing saves 15%, and the free trial needs no card.
10. Scrunch: best for technical teams
Scrunch is an AI visibility platform for technical and enterprise teams, now owned by Sitecore, that pairs prompt tracking with site audits and AI crawler data.
We used the 7-day trial. Scrunch drafts a brand description from your site for you to confirm, then you add competitors, a persona and your topics. New prompts run daily for the first 14 days and every 72 hours after that.
The self-serve Core plan is $250 a month for 125 prompts on ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews and Copilot. That gets a Writesonic user Perplexity and Copilot without Enterprise, but Claude, Gemini and AI Mode are Enterprise only on Scrunch too.
Content is not its focus. Core includes basic content generation and 5 site audits a month, and Scrunch's main strength is showing how AI crawlers read your pages.
Key features
- Four engines on Core. ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews and Copilot, with 9 on Enterprise.
- Site audits. 5 a month on Core.
- Agent Traffic. AI crawler visits, through your CDN or host.
- GA4 AI referrals, with engagement and conversion data since October 2026.
- MCP server since May 2026.
Where it falls short
- Claude, Gemini, AI Mode and Grok are Enterprise only.
- Agent Pages and the rest of AXP are Enterprise only.
- Little content writing compared with Writesonic.
- New prompts slow to every 72 hours after the first two weeks.
User reviews
“Of the many GEO tools I tested, Scrunch has the most intuitive interface, and it's easy to see which URLs get cited for our target prompts.” (Source)
“The reports are clearly laid out, but you need four weeks of data as a baseline before you can show prospects anything.” (Source)
“The product is solid, but certain models are locked behind higher tiers, which wasn't clear upfront.” (Source)
Pricing
- Core: $250/month for 125 prompts, 4 engines and 5 user licenses
- Enterprise: custom, with 9 engines, AXP and API access
- Core comes with a 7-day free trial.

- Action Center: Growth gets a limited trial with 5 off-page and 5 on-page actions a month. The full Action Center stays on Enterprise.
- Engines: Enterprise now tracks 9 platforms, including Meta's Muse Spark. Self-serve plans still track 3.
