PageOptimizer Pro alternatives are worth a look if POP's credits run out before the month does, if you want AI answers checked more than once a week, or if you want fixes done rather than listed. PageOptimizer Pro (POP) builds its on-page recommendations from Kyle Roof's ranking tests, and in 2026 it added an AI Visibility Tracker and the POP Pilot agent to every plan. Both run on the same credits as everything else, and the tracker refreshes weekly at most.
These 10 PageOptimizer Pro alternatives include content editors, graders, brief tools, an SEO suite that applies fixes for you and an agentic AI search platform. Prices checked in November 2026.
How we compared these PageOptimizer Pro alternatives
PageOptimizer Pro is an on-page tool with an AI tracker that runs on credits, so we looked at every alternative on both counts:
- How it decides what to change on a page, and how much detail it gives you
- Which AI engines it tracks, how often, and whether tracking costs extra
- Whether it writes, publishes or fixes anything, and the real monthly cost
Apart from Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit, which we've used for other reviews, none of these tools are on our hands-on tested list. We describe PageOptimizer Pro and the alternatives from their pricing pages, docs, changelogs, archived pricing pages and user reviews. Quotes are condensed from Capterra, Trustpilot, Product Hunt and WordPress.org and link to the original.
Orchly is our product. We held it to the same checks and say where it falls short. Checked November 2026.

1. Orchly: best PageOptimizer Pro alternative for agentic AI search optimization
Orchly is an agentic AI search optimization platform. It tracks your brand every day in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, with Gemini, Google AI Mode, Claude, Grok and Microsoft Copilot as paid add-ons, and also tracks Meta AI and DeepSeek. It reads answers from each engine's real interface rather than an API, and its agents run on their own, on a schedule.
They analyze your AI visibility, your competitors, your SEO and your Search Console and GA4 data, decide what to write and which pages to refresh, and write and refresh them in your brand voice. They keep Brand Brain up to date, find the sites, people and Reddit threads worth reaching, run the outreach and draft the replies, and audit your site for technical SEO and AI search issues with the fixes ranked. You decide how each agent works, fully on its own or waiting for your approval.
PageOptimizer Pro gives you detailed reports, a weekly AI tracker on credits and an assistant that runs its tools when you ask. Orchly's agents run the work end to end, from AI answers to content, outreach and site fixes, from $49 a month.
What AI engines see
- Daily AI visibility. ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews, with Gemini, AI Mode, Claude, Grok and Copilot as add-ons (Orchly also tracks Meta AI and DeepSeek), plus share of voice against competitors. POP's tracker runs weekly at most and costs 3 credits plus 1 per question each run.
- Perception and fact check. Attributes, objections, and AI claims checked against your Brand Brain.
- Mention Gap and fan-outs. Cited sources that skip you, and the searches AI runs behind each answer.
Content and fixes without credits
- Content Agent. Runs on a schedule, picks what to write and refresh from Search Console decay and AI citation gaps, drafts in your brand voice from Brand Brain, and publishes to your CMS on its own or after your approval, as you choose. Essential includes 20 articles a month, not metered by credits.
- Site Health Agent. Audits your site for technical SEO and AI search issues and ranks the fixes by impact.
- Activation Agent. Finds the publishers, people and Reddit threads AI cites, runs the outreach from your own inbox and drafts the replies.
Search data
- Search Console, GA4 and Page 360. Clicks, conversions and revenue per page from Search Console and GA4.
Where Orchly falls short
- Less granular on-page data. POP's test-based reports go deeper on keyword counts by page section, word count targets, entities and schema.
- No Google Docs or WordPress editing extension. POP's Chrome extension works inside Google Docs, WordPress and other editors.
- Fewer engines in the base price. Gemini, AI Mode, Claude, Grok and Copilot are paid add-ons on every Orchly plan.
Orchly pricing
- Essential: $49/month for 25 prompts, 20 articles, 1 site and 1 user
- Pro: $125/month for 100 prompts, 50 articles, 3 sites and 5 users, with AI traffic analytics, custom agents and white-label reports
- Enterprise: custom, with a customer success manager
- There's a 7-day free trial, and yearly billing saves 25%.

2. Surfer: best mainstream content editor
Surfer is a content optimization platform built around a live Content Editor that scores a draft as you type, with AI visibility tracking from its $99 Standard plan, which suits content teams that find POP's reports too dense for writers. We haven't used Surfer ourselves, so this section is based on its pricing page, changelog and Capterra and Trustpilot reviews.
The difference from POP is mostly in how the advice reaches the writer. POP gives you a report with keyword counts per page section. Surfer gives the writer a single score and a list of terms in the editor, in Surfer, Google Docs or WordPress, and since May 2026 that score covers Google and AI search side by side.
AI tracking is cheaper to run than POP's credits, but thin at the bottom. Standard checks 25 ChatGPT prompts once a week. Daily tracking on ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Mode, AI Overviews and Gemini starts on Pro at $182 a month billed yearly, or $82 for the tracking-only AI Search Analytics plan.
Content Editor credits still run out, so the credit problem doesn't fully go away.
Key features
- Content Editor and Content Score. Live scoring for Google and AI search, with Auto-Optimize to fill the gaps.
- AI Tracker. 25 weekly ChatGPT prompts on Standard, 50 daily prompts on five engines on Pro.
- AI Search Analytics. 50 daily prompts on all five engines without the editor, $82 a month billed yearly.
- Integrations. Google Docs, WordPress and Contentful.
- MCP server on Pro and higher since October 2026.
Where it falls short
- Less page-level detail than POP's reports on where each term goes.
- No Claude, Grok or Copilot tracking.
- The 7-day Pro trial needs a card and turns into a paid plan unless you cancel.
User reviews
“An all-in-one SEO platform for half or a third of what Semrush costs, though its keyword search isn't as strong.” (Source)
“It pulls keyword research, SERP analysis and competitor research into one editor that beginners and experts can both use. But Content Editor and audit credits can't be rolled over, and the new AI editor is pricey.” (Source)
“I didn't see any results and lost $250.” (Source)
Pricing
- Discovery: $49/month billed yearly ($59 monthly), with no AI tracking
- Standard: $99/month billed yearly ($119 monthly) for 25 ChatGPT prompts checked weekly
- Pro: $182/month billed yearly ($219 monthly) for 50 daily prompts on five engines
- AI Search Analytics: $82/month billed yearly ($95 monthly). New accounts get a 7-day Pro trial with a card.
3. Clearscope: best for simple grading
Clearscope is a content grading tool that scores drafts from F to A++ inside Google Docs and WordPress, with unlimited users and tracked queries in AI answers, which suits editorial teams that want something far simpler than POP. We haven't used Clearscope ourselves, so this section draws on its pricing page, product pages, archived pricing pages and Capterra reviews.
Where POP tells you how many times a keyword belongs in the H1, the URL and the body, Clearscope gives a writer a list of terms and a letter grade. That's less control, but a freelance writer can use it on day one without training.
There are no credits to watch inside a draft, and every plan includes unlimited users, while POP charges $12 a month for each seat beyond Teams' five.
AI tracking is fixed rather than metered. Essentials includes 50 tracked queries, and the product pages list ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude, although the pricing page still names only the first two. There's no Perplexity or AI Overviews tracking.
Key features
- Content grades. F to A++ against the terms and topics the top results cover.
- Google Docs add-on and WordPress plugin. The grade shows up where writers work.
- Tracked queries. Brand mentions in ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude over time.
- Content Inventory. Grades and Search Console clicks for your live pages.
- Unlimited users and projects on every plan.
Where it falls short
- 20 drafts a month on Essentials, with extra drafts sold in packs of 10.
- No AI writer, schema or E-E-A-T tools like POP's.
- No Perplexity, AI Overviews or AI Mode tracking.
User reviews
“It makes content research easy to manage. The UI is clean but could look more modern, and the free keyword tool and the credit-based optimizer look too similar, so it's easy to make a mistake.” (Source)
“Smooth, effective and efficient. My only complaint is that some suggested terms don't fit the piece.” (Source)
Pricing
- Essentials: $129/month for 50 tracked queries, 50 pages, 20 Discoveries and 20 Drafts
- Business: $399/month for 300 tracked queries, 300 pages and 50 Discoveries
- Enterprise: custom, with SSO and custom credits
- There's a 14-day free trial and no contract.
4. NEURONwriter: best cheap editor
NEURONwriter is a low-cost NLP content editor that scores drafts against the competitor pages you pick, from $23 a month, with a small AI visibility tracker on every plan, which suits bloggers and freelancers who want POP's page-by-page approach for less money. We haven't used NEURONwriter ourselves, so this section is based on its pricing page, FAQ, update board and Trustpilot reviews.
It's closer to POP than most editors here. You choose which top-ranking pages to learn from, much like POP's focus competitors, and the editor suggests terms, headings and questions with a target score.
The entry price is lower and more predictable. Bronze costs $23 a month for 25 documents, and first plans can be refunded within 30 days, against POP's 7-day refund guarantee.
AI tracking is narrow. Every plan monitors 5 to 20 questions a month in Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, and ChatGPT and Perplexity cost extra, from $9 a month. There's no Claude or Gemini tracking, both of which POP covers.
Key features
- NLP content editor. Terms, headings and questions from the competitor pages you choose.
- AI Visibility Standard. 5 to 20 questions a month in AI Overviews and AI Mode.
- AI Monitoring add-on. Adds ChatGPT and Perplexity, from $9 a month.
- Content Designer and AI writing. Drafts and rewrites on AI credits.
- Integrations, API and MCP from Gold at $69.
Where it falls short
- No Claude or Gemini tracking, and ChatGPT is a paid add-on.
- No schema or E-E-A-T analysis like POP's.
- Search Console, WordPress and Shopify integrations only from Gold.
User reviews
“Most SEO tools struggle with small languages, but it works perfectly in Swedish. It gives me the SERP-based words and H1 to H3 headings I need, and the AI text is a solid starting point.” (Source)
“Clean interface, and an editor that feels practical rather than overwhelming.” (Source)
“Support is slow.” (Source)
Pricing
- Bronze: $23/month for 2 projects, 25 documents and 5 AI-monitored questions
- Silver: $45/month for 5 projects, 50 documents and 7 questions
- Gold: $69/month for 10 projects, 75 documents, 10 questions, unlimited team members and integrations
- Yearly billing gives 2 months free. The 7-day trial runs on Gold, and first plans can be refunded within 30 days.
5. Frase: best content loop
Frase is a content research and optimization platform with one AI agent that researches, writes, publishes and fixes decaying pages, plus daily AI visibility tracking from $39 a month billed yearly, which suits small teams that want POP's optimization and the writing and publishing that POP leaves to you. We haven't used Frase ourselves, so this section draws on its pricing page, changelog and Capterra and Trustpilot reviews.
Frase rebuilt its platform in early 2026. You ask the agent for a page in plain language, and it researches the topic, drafts it, scores it for SEO and GEO and can publish it to your CMS.
The tracking is the bigger change for POP users. Frase Starter checks 20 prompts every day on ChatGPT and Google AI, included in the plan. POP's tracker runs once, weekly or monthly, and each run costs credits.
Frase's scores are broader and less exact than POP's. You won't get keyword counts by page section, and Perplexity needs Professional, while Claude and Gemini need the $239 Scale plan.
Key features
- Frase agent. Research, briefs, drafts and optimization from plain-language requests.
- SEO and GEO scores. Every draft is scored for Google and for AI search.
- Content Guard. Watches 10 to 300 live pages for decay, depending on plan.
- AI Visibility. 20, 50 or 75 prompts tracked daily, rebuilt in October 2026.
- API, MCP server and CLI on every plan.
Where it falls short
- Less granular on-page guidance than POP's Rank Engine reports.
- Starter tracks only ChatGPT and Google AI.
- Lifetime-deal customers were moved to a legacy app, and some say on Trustpilot that this broke the deal.
User reviews
“The outline builder, content map and content briefs are my favorite parts. It sometimes feels buggy because of all the updates, and the add-ons are a bit pricey.” (Source)
“The articles were good quality, but we hit limits on AI Instructions that weren't disclosed when we signed up.” (Source)
“The more I used it, the more it felt like ChatGPT with SEO headers, and they refused a refund after one day.” (Source)
Pricing
- Starter: $39/month billed yearly ($49 monthly) for 1 seat, 10 articles and 20 prompts on ChatGPT and Google AI
- Professional: $103/month billed yearly ($129 monthly) for 3 seats, 40 articles and 50 prompts, adding Perplexity
- Scale: $239/month billed yearly ($299 monthly) for 5 seats, 100 articles and 75 prompts, adding Claude and Gemini
- Every plan has a 7-day free trial with no card. Enterprise is custom.
6. Search Atlas: best for automated fixes
Search Atlas is an SEO suite whose OTTO agent pushes technical and on-page fixes to your site, alongside a content editor, an AI writer and AI visibility tracking from its Growth plan, which suits agencies that want POP's recommendations applied for them. We haven't used Search Atlas ourselves, so this section is based on its pricing page, archived pricing pages, release notes and Trustpilot reviews.
OTTO is the reason POP users look at it. POP tells you what to change and POP Pilot can run reports and draft content inside POP, but nothing publishes to your site automatically. OTTO applies changes through a script on your site, either on its own or after you approve each one.
Content Genius covers the writing side, and version 5 in September 2026 handed more of the planning and drafting to the Atlas Agent.
Everything runs on one pool of Universal Credits, so it doesn't solve POP's credit problem. AI visibility starts on Growth at $199 with ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Mode, and Pro adds Copilot, Perplexity and Claude. The old $79 Starter price was a discounted rate. The pricing page lists $99 billed monthly.
Key features
- OTTO SEO. Deploys technical and on-page fixes automatically or after approval.
- Content Genius. AI articles and edits that publish to WordPress, Shopify, Webflow and other CMSs.
- LLM Visibility. 3 engines from Growth, 6 on Pro.
- Site audits and rank tracking. 50,000 audit pages and 2,000 keywords on Starter.
- White-label reports on Pro and Agency.
Where it falls short
- No AI visibility tracking on the $99 Starter plan.
- One credit pool for everything makes costs hard to predict.
- Many Trustpilot complaints are about billing and cancelling.
User reviews
“I've used it for about a year. On-page optimization is a breeze, and getting backlinks and press releases is easy too.” (Source)
“Solid service, still needs work on reliability, but huge potential.” (Source)
“I bought the $99 plan and then found I was charged $199 a month for two months. They didn't refund me.” (Source)
Pricing
- Starter: $99/month for 1 project, 1 seat and 50,000 credits, with no AI visibility tracking
- Growth: $199/month for 2 projects, 3 seats and AI visibility on ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Mode
- Pro: $399/month for 4 projects, 5 seats, 6 AI platforms and white label
- Agency: from $999/month. Every plan has a 7-day trial.
7. Dashword: best lightweight editor
Dashword is a lightweight content brief and optimization tool with free, unlimited content scoring and an API and MCP server on every plan, which suits small teams that want a calmer editor than POP and plan to run it from an AI agent. We haven't used Dashword ourselves, so this section is based on its pricing page and product pages.
Scoring is free and unlimited, and only content reports use up your monthly allowance. For POP users who watch every credit on re-runs, that's the main appeal.
The briefs cover competitor outlines, keywords and questions, and you can hand them to Claude, Cursor or Codex over MCP and score each draft until it's ready.
It's much lighter than POP. There's no AI visibility tracking, no schema, entity or E-E-A-T analysis, and no publishing, and Startup costs $99 a month.
Key features
- Content briefs. Competitor outlines, keywords and questions, shareable with writers.
- Content scoring. Free and unlimited, with a Google Docs add-on.
- Content monitoring. Traffic-drop alerts, weekly keyword reports and a rank tracker.
- AI Writer. 100,000 words on Startup.
- API and MCP server on every plan, including free accounts.
Where it falls short
- No AI search visibility tracking.
- 30 content reports a month on Startup.
- No schema, entity or E-E-A-T tools.
User reviews
We couldn't find recent Dashword reviews on Capterra, Trustpilot or Product Hunt to quote.
Pricing
- Startup: $99/month for 30 content reports, 5 seats and 100,000 AI Writer words
- Business: from $349/month for 100 reports, 10 seats, bulk reports and SSO
- Your first report is free with no card, and yearly billing saves 20% if you ask.
8. Semrush SEO Writing Assistant: best for Semrush users
The Semrush SEO Writing Assistant is a content scoring add-on for Google Docs, WordPress and Microsoft Word that grades drafts on SEO, readability, originality and tone using Semrush's keyword data, which suits teams that already pay for Semrush and want one score instead of POP's detailed report.
We've used Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit for other reviews, not the Writing Assistant, so this section draws on the Semrush help center and the plugin's WordPress.org reviews.
The Writing Assistant compares your draft with the top 10 Google results and suggests keywords, a length and a readability target. It won't tell you where each keyword goes the way POP does, and it has no schema or E-E-A-T checks.
AI visibility is a separate purchase. In the AI Visibility Toolkit, Prompt Research was the part we found most useful, but 25 prompts per domain for $99 a month felt tight. Prompt Tracking runs daily, which beats POP's weekly runs, and Semrush One plans start at $199 with 50 prompts.
Key features
- Real-time scoring. SEO, readability, originality and tone of voice for each draft.
- Add-ons for Google Docs, WordPress and Microsoft Word 365.
- Recommended keywords from Semrush's keyword database.
- Compose, Rephrase and Ask AI. AI writing tools on Smart Writer Words.
- Plagiarism checker. Limited checks on lower tiers.
Where it falls short
- No AI answer data in the editor.
- 2 documents per account on the entry tier, per the help center.
- AI tracking is a separate $99 toolkit per domain.
User reviews
“If you know Semrush's SEO Content Template, this will feel very familiar. You need an account, but for serious SEO you need one anyway.” (Source)
“Excellent plugin with very good help, even if Semrush's pricing is sky high.” (Source)
“With a free or Pro account, you get one recommendation set for a single document. No more words needed.” (Source)
Pricing
- SEO plan: $139/month, or $117.33 billed yearly
- Semrush One Starter: $199/month with 50 AI prompts, or $299 for Pro+ with 100
- AI Visibility Toolkit: $99/month per domain, billed yearly, for 25 prompts
- Semrush has a free plan with limited data, and paid SEO plans start with a 7-day trial.
9. Content Harmony: best for briefs
Content Harmony is a content brief tool priced by the number of pages you plan, from $50 a month for 5 content workflows with unlimited users, which suits agencies that brief outside writers before a page is written rather than tuning it afterwards. We haven't used Content Harmony ourselves, so this section is based on its pricing page, product updates and Capterra reviews.
Each workflow bundles a keyword report, a content brief and a content grader for one page. Credits stay valid for 90 days, so a slow month doesn't waste them, which POP users who lose track of credits may like.
It does one job. There's no AI visibility tracking, no AI writer and no publishing, although keyword reports show the AI Overviews that appear for each search.
Per page it costs more than POP Unlimited once you're past a handful of pieces. $50 buys 5 workflows, and $199 buys 25. The $10 trial gives you 10 workflows with no automatic billing.
Key features
- Content workflows. Keyword report, brief and grader for each page.
- Search intent analysis. SERP features and AI Overviews in each keyword report.
- AI Suggested Headings. Outline ideas you can accept into the brief.
- Unlimited users and projects on every plan.
- Rollover credits. Monthly credits stay valid for 90 days.
Where it falls short
- No AI visibility tracking.
- No AI writer, schema tools or CMS publishing.
- Pricing climbs with volume, to $299 a month for 50 workflows.
User reviews
“Very easy to use, and it saves a lot of time in the research phase.” (Source)
“Easily the best investment we've made in our content workflow and the quality of our briefs.” (Source)
“I needed to learn SEO fast, and it pointed me in the right direction. There's a lot to learn, but plenty of resources to help.” (Source)
Pricing
- Standard 5: $50/month (about $42 billed yearly) for 5 content workflows
- Standard 12: $99/month for 12 workflows
- Standard 25: $199/month for 25 workflows, with larger plans up to 150 and Enterprise from $1,000
- The trial is $10 for 10 workflows, with no time limit.
10. Scalenut: best budget bundle
Scalenut is a budget content platform that bundles GEO article writing, an optimizer, Reddit monitoring and weekly AI visibility tracking in one plan from $59 a month, which suits small teams that want articles written and published, not just a report on how to fix them. We haven't used Scalenut ourselves, so this section is based on its pricing page, archived pricing pages, terms and reviews.
Next to POP, Scalenut is more about output. Starter includes 5 GEO articles a month, Plus includes 30 and publishes to WordPress and Shopify, and its optimizer gives an NLP score rather than POP's section-by-section counts.
AI tracking is included on every plan, with no per-run credits, but it refreshes weekly. Starter and Plus track ChatGPT and AI Overviews, and Perplexity needs the $199 Professional plan.
The yearly Black Friday early access deal brings Starter down to $21 a month with triple limits, but it's annual only and non-refundable. On Trustpilot, Scalenut has a 3.2 TrustScore, and its one-star reviews are about billing, cancelling and support.
Key features
- GEO articles. 5, 30 or 75 a month, with auto-publishing from Plus.
- AI visibility tracking. 10, 25 or 100 prompts, refreshed weekly.
- Content optimizer. NLP and GEO scoring for new and existing pages.
- Social Upreach and Backlinks Marketplace. Reddit monitoring and link buying from Plus.
- VIP Service. A strategist, writers and editors for a custom price.
Where it falls short
- AI tracking refreshes weekly on every plan.
- No Claude or Gemini on the pricing page, and Perplexity only on Professional.
- No refunds after the 7-day trial, and the yearly deal is non-refundable.
User reviews
“A really easy way to get a quality first draft with very little effort.” (Source)
“One of the best AI writing assistants for long-form posts. Cruise Mode gets a blog written in about five minutes, and the plans often come with good discounts.” (Source)
Pricing
- Starter: $59/month for 10 weekly prompts on ChatGPT and AI Overviews, 5 GEO articles and 1 workspace
- Plus: $89/month for 25 weekly prompts, 30 articles, 4 team members and auto-publishing
- Professional: $199/month for 100 weekly prompts, adding Perplexity, with 75 articles
- The yearly deal takes 65% off ($21, $31 or $70 a month) and is non-refundable. There's a 7-day free trial.

What changed with PageOptimizer Pro in 2026
PageOptimizer Pro raised its prices at the start of 2026 and moved into AI search in the summer. Here's what changed, based on POP's blog and archived copies of its pricing page.
- Between December 2025 and January 2026: prices went up. Basic moved from $37 to $40, Unlimited from $67 to $72 ($56 to $62 billed yearly), and Teams from $130 to $143 ($108 to $119 billed yearly).
- March 12: POP published a test of 13 AI writing models against POP AI Writer, scored with its own Rank Engine.
- June 17: a study of 10,937 POP reports run in April looked at why pages don't rank or get cited by AI tools.
- July 21: POP wrote about query fan-out, the hidden searches AI runs behind a question, and how its reports account for them.
- By August 10: the AI Visibility Tracker appeared on every plan, tracking ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity. It wasn't on the pricing page in early June.
- August 10: POP launched POP Pilot, an AI SEO agent that runs reports, schema, silos and AI Writer drafts inside POP. You approve every credit spend, and nothing publishes to your site automatically. The done-for-you POP Authority service appeared around the same time.
What PageOptimizer Pro users say
POP has a 5.0 rating on Capterra from 74 reviews. Most praise its on-page data and results, and the common complaints are credits, the learning curve and the interface.
“Page analysis and Watchdog make keyword optimization and change tracking much easier for our agency. I'd like to create several keyword strategies per project, since they cost credits.” (Source)
“I wish the Basic plan had more credits.” (Source)
“It isn't easy for users who aren't advanced, although it tries to be.” (Source)

- You optimize inside Google Docs, WordPress and other editors with POP's Chrome extension.
- Checking AI visibility once a week or once a month is enough, and you're happy to pay for it in credits.
