10 Best Knowatoa Alternatives in 2026 (After the Price Change)

Knowatoa alternatives are worth a look if you want Perplexity or Claude without paying $199 a month, or need to know how many questions a plan tracks before you buy. Knowatoa moved to its current $59 Starter and $199 Growth plans in late 2025, replacing a $99 Premium plan that included Perplexity, and in mid-2026 it took the question limits off its pricing page.

Starter tracks ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, with AI agents that research gaps and draft articles. These 10 Knowatoa alternatives publish their limits, include more engines for the money, or run more of the work for you. Prices checked in November 2026.

Editor's note

How we compared these Knowatoa alternatives

We signed up for Peec AI, Otterly.AI, Promptmonitor, Scrunch, SE Visible and the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit, ran the same buyer prompts through each and set them against Knowatoa's $59 and $199 plans. For every tool we checked:

  • Which AI engines the plan you can buy covers, and the prompt limit it publishes
  • How often the data refreshes and how long setup takes
  • Whether it acts on what it finds, and the real monthly cost

We haven't used Knowatoa itself, so we describe it from its pricing page, archived copies of that page, its docs and changelog. It has no user reviews on G2 yet. LLMrefs and Trakkr come from their pricing pages and listings, and AthenaHQ needed a sales call, so it comes from docs and G2 reviews. Review quotes are condensed from G2, Trustpilot and Product Hunt and link to the original.

Orchly is our product. We judged it on the same points and say where it falls short. Prices and features checked in November 2026.

1. Orchly: best Knowatoa alternative to win more AI recommendations

Orchly AI visibility overview showing AI Visibility Score, Share of Voice, sentiment, average position and a competitor leaderboard
Orchly's AI visibility overview

Orchly is an agentic AI search optimization platform. It tracks your brand every day in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, with Gemini, Google AI Mode, Claude, Grok and Microsoft Copilot as add-ons (it also tracks Meta AI and DeepSeek), and its agents run on their own, on a schedule, across the whole loop.

They analyze your AI visibility, your competitors and your Search Console and GA4 data. They find what to write and which pages to refresh and do it in your brand voice, keep Brand Brain up to date, find the sites, people and Reddit threads worth reaching, run the outreach and draft the replies, and audit your site for technical SEO and AI search issues. You decide whether each agent runs on its own or waits for your approval.

Knowatoa gives you tracking plus agents that draft articles and social posts. Orchly's agents run the work end to end, from analysis to outreach and site fixes, with published limits of 25 prompts on Essential and 100 on Pro, from $49 a month.

Daily tracking with published limits

  • Daily checks on real interfaces. ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews every day, with Gemini, AI Mode, Claude, Grok and Copilot as add-ons (Orchly also tracks Meta AI and DeepSeek). Perplexity is included from $49, where Knowatoa keeps it for the $199 Growth plan.
  • Prompts by brand and intent. Branded vs non-branded, and commercial, informational or transactional.

Traffic and revenue

We found no Search Console or GA4 integration in Knowatoa's docs, so its reports stop at the AI answer. Orchly puts clicks, conversions and revenue next to your AI visibility.

  • Search Console and GA4. Clicks, conversions and revenue from Google Search Console and GA4, next to AI visibility.

Agents on every plan

  • Content, Activation and Site Health agents. Knowatoa's agents research gaps and draft articles and social posts for you to approve. Orchly's agents come with Essential and run on a schedule: the Content Agent writes and refreshes pages and publishes to your CMS, the Activation Agent runs outreach to cited sources and drafts Reddit replies, and the Site Health Agent ranks technical fixes.

Where Orchly falls short

  • Unlimited sites. Knowatoa allows unlimited sites per account. Orchly Essential covers 1 site, Pro 3.
  • AI Mode costs extra. Knowatoa's $59 Starter includes Google AI Mode. In Orchly it's an add-on, along with Gemini, Claude, Grok and Copilot.

Pricing: Essential $49/month (25 prompts daily). Pro $125/month (100 prompts, 3 sites, 5 users, white-label reports). 7-day free trial.

2. Peec AI: best daily tracker with published limits

Peec AI dashboard

Peec AI is an AI search analytics platform that publishes its prompt limits, checks every prompt daily and gives every plan unlimited seats, which suits Knowatoa users who want to know exactly what they're paying for.

We signed up and had data within minutes. Peec read our site, suggested prompts, and visibility, position and sentiment against our competitors filled in for each engine.

Coming from Knowatoa, the clearest difference is the number on the plan card. Starter says 50 prompts on 3 engines, so you can work out the cost per prompt before you buy.

You also pick the 3 engines yourself, and Perplexity can be added to the entry plan for a monthly fee. The sources view was the part we used most, with every cited domain labelled owned, editorial, reference or UGC.

Key features

  • Model choice. Any 3 of ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, AI Mode, AI Overviews and Naver AI on Starter, with Perplexity and other extra models from €25 a month.
  • Published limits. 50, 150 or 350 prompts, checked daily.
  • Source analytics. Cited domains and URLs labelled by type.
  • Actions. Ranked suggestions for pages to fix and threads to join, since February 2026.
  • Brand Perception and GA4 AI referrals, added in September 2026, plus an MCP server since April.

Where it falls short

  • Claude, Grok and DeepSeek need an Enterprise plan.
  • No writing, publishing or outreach, where Knowatoa's agents draft articles on every plan.
  • 50 prompts on Starter.

User reviews

“It's easy to start with, no lengthy sales process, and the dashboards make AI SEO data readable for the rest of the company.” (Source)

“It can be hard to attribute the actions we've taken to changes in our AI results.” (Source)

“I check the trend lines every day, but I still rely on Semrush for prompt volume research.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Starter: €85/month (about $95) for 50 prompts and 3 engines
  • Pro: €205/month for 150 prompts
  • Advanced: €425/month for 350 prompts and Looker Studio
  • Unlimited seats on every plan, and yearly billing saves 15%.

3. Otterly.AI: best budget alternative

Otterly.AI dashboard

Otterly.AI is a low-cost AI search monitoring tool that runs every prompt daily on four engines, Perplexity and Copilot included, from $29 a month, which makes it the cheapest way out of Knowatoa's $59 Starter.

We added our brand and Otterly built a competitor list and suggested prompts on its own. The first report was ready in about 15 minutes.

The dashboard shows coverage, position and sentiment against competitors, and a Brand Visibility Index puts every brand in Leaders, Niche or Low Performance. We liked that you can open each prompt and read the answer as the engine wrote it.

Lite is small, though. 15 prompts doesn't go far, and the next plan is $189, a jump one agency reviewer called a stretch. AI Mode, Gemini and Claude are paid add-ons on every plan.

Key features

  • Four engines included. ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot, checked daily.
  • Brand Visibility Index. Sorts you and your competitors into Leaders, Niche and Low Performance.
  • GEO audit and recommendations. Page checks with suggested fixes, 3 a week on Lite.
  • Agent Analytics. AI crawler visits from server logs, Cloudflare or a WordPress plugin, since August 2026.
  • Unlimited seats, plus API and MCP requests from Standard.

Where it falls short

  • 15 prompts on the $29 plan, then $189 for 100.
  • AI Mode, Gemini and Claude cost extra.
  • Crawler data isn't tied to prompts, and there's no content writing or outreach.

User reviews

“Monitoring prompts is easy, and I can see exactly how our products and brand get mentioned.” (Source)

“Data updates take longer than I expect when I'm tracking several domains at once, and I'd like more control over reports and alerts.” (Source)

“Good ROI for us, but there's no direct connector to the website, so we don't see much of the site visits AI sends.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Lite: $29/month for 15 prompts
  • Standard: $189/month for 100 prompts
  • Premium: $489/month for 400 prompts
  • Engine add-ons cost extra. Yearly billing saves 15%, and the free trial needs no card.

4. LLMrefs: best for engine coverage

LLMrefs AI citation tracking dashboard

LLMrefs is a keyword-based AI rank tracker that covers 11 AI engines, Claude, Grok and Copilot included, on a single $79 plan, which suits Knowatoa users who want every engine for less than Knowatoa's $199 Growth plan. We haven't used LLMrefs ourselves, so this section draws on its pricing page, FAQ and independent reviews.

You start from keywords instead of questions. LLMrefs turns each keyword into the conversational prompts behind it, 500 prompts in all, and rolls the results up per keyword with a share of voice and average position.

Like Knowatoa, it puts unlimited projects on one account, so agencies with many small clients can spread one plan across them.

Freshness is the trade-off. The FAQ says each keyword updates at least once a week, where Knowatoa's current plans refresh daily, and the $79 price is still labelled limited time.

Key features

  • About ten engines on one plan. ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Grok, Copilot, Meta AI and DeepSeek.
  • Keyword tracking. 500 prompts generated from your keywords, with monthly volume estimates.
  • Unlimited projects and seats, with CSV export and an API.
  • Geo-targeting in 50+ countries and 20+ languages.
  • Free tools. An AI crawlability checker, a Reddit threads finder and an llms.txt generator.

Where it falls short

  • Weekly updates at minimum, not daily.
  • You can't fully control the prompts, since they come from your keywords.
  • No sentiment, content writing or outreach, so nothing like Knowatoa's agents.

User reviews

LLMrefs has no reviews on G2 or Trustpilot, and its one Product Hunt review is a single line of praise, so we have no user quotes to share.

Pricing

  • All in One: $79/month for 500 prompts and every engine it tracks
  • 7-day free trial. More keywords are sold as an upgrade with no listed price.

5. Promptmonitor: best cheap tracker with Claude

Promptmonitor dashboard

Promptmonitor is a low-cost AI visibility tracker that lists the contact details of the publishers AI engines cite, which suits Knowatoa users who want to act on citations through outreach.

Setup took us about a minute. You enter a domain and the dashboard appears, starting at zero because there's no history yet.

The Sources report is the reason to pick it. Every cited URL comes with the model, how often and when it was seen, an opportunity score and who to contact at the site. That's a step past a list of cited domains.

The plans have shifted this year, and the pricing page contradicts itself in places. Going by the plan cards, Starter checks 3 engines twice a week with 1 seat, and Claude starts on Growth at $79. Some suggestions in the Actions tab also still referred to 2024 and SGE.

Key features

  • Sources report. Cited URLs with model, count, first and last seen dates, and an opportunity score.
  • Publisher contacts for outreach, on every plan.
  • Published limits. 25, 50 or 150 prompts, with a monthly answer allowance.
  • Claude and DeepSeek from Growth, and all 8 models, Grok and AI Mode included, on Pro.
  • City-level tracking in 200+ locations.

Where it falls short

  • Starter checks prompts twice a week, on 3 engines, with 1 seat.
  • Content suggestions can be out of date, and the changelog has been quiet since March 2026.
  • Bot analytics needs middleware on your server.

User reviews

Promptmonitor has no reviews on G2 or Capterra. Product Hunt has one 5-star review and Trustpilot one 1-star review:

“My marketing team and I use it to find smarter ways to make our product more visible.” (Source)

“The tool kept loading and never tracked our prompts, and I was charged after asking to cancel.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Starter: $39/month for 25 prompts on 3 engines, checked twice a week, 1 seat
  • Growth: $79/month for 50 prompts on 5 engines, checked daily, unlimited seats
  • Pro: $149/month for 150 prompts on all 8 engines
  • Yearly billing saves 15%, and there's a 7-day trial.

6. Trakkr: best for tracking plus content

Trakkr AI visibility dashboard

Trakkr is an AI visibility platform that includes 8 AI models and 25 article credits on its $100 entry plan, which suits small content teams that want Knowatoa-style drafting with Claude and Perplexity tracked from day one. We haven't used Trakkr ourselves, so this section is based on its pricing page and product listings.

Growth covers one brand with 50 prompts tracked daily, 3 seats and MCP access. Every plan includes all 8 models, with no per-model fees, so the engines Knowatoa keeps for its $199 plan are on Trakkr's $100 one.

Scale, at $500, covers 10 brands with unlimited seats, white-label client portals and the REST API, which is the plan an agency would compare with Knowatoa's unlimited sites.

Key features

  • 8 models on every plan. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Grok, DeepSeek and Meta AI.
  • Daily tracking. 50 prompts per brand, refreshed every day.
  • Article credits. 25 a month on Growth and 100 on Scale.
  • Perception and site optimization. Sentiment, AI crawler checks and technical recommendations.
  • Sharing and API. Shared dashboards and exports on both plans, white-label portals and REST API on Scale.

Where it falls short

  • 50 prompts per brand on both plans.
  • No AI Mode or Copilot.
  • ChatGPT Shopping costs $49 per brand on top, and the 14-day trial needs a card.

User reviews

Trakkr has a single star rating on G2 and no written reviews we could read, so we have no user quotes to share.

Pricing

  • Growth: $100/month for 1 brand, 50 prompts, 25 articles and 3 seats
  • Scale: $500/month for 10 brands, unlimited seats, white-label portals and API
  • Enterprise: from $1,000/month, billed annually
  • 14-day free trial with a card. Annual billing saves about 17%.

7. Scrunch: best for technical teams

Scrunch AI visibility dashboard

Scrunch is an AI visibility platform for mid-market and enterprise teams that cares about how AI crawlers read your site as much as what the answers say. Sitecore acquired it in June 2026.

We used the 7-day trial. Onboarding is guided. Scrunch drafts a brand description from your site, you confirm it, add competitors, a persona and topics, and start from a handful of suggested prompts.

Its self-serve plan is now Core at $250 a month, with 125 prompts on ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews and Copilot. Claude, Gemini, AI Mode, Meta AI and Grok are Enterprise only, so for engines alone Knowatoa's $199 Growth covers more.

The technical side is what Knowatoa can't match. Site audits and Agent Traffic show how AI crawlers read and visit your pages, and GA4 shows the referral traffic AI sends.

Key features

  • Core engines. ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews and Copilot, with 125 prompts and 5,000 responses a month.
  • Site audits. 5 a month on Core.
  • Agent Traffic. AI crawler visits by page, once you connect your CDN or host.
  • GA4 AI referrals, enhanced in October 2026, plus an MCP server.
  • AXP on Enterprise. Serves AI agents a machine-readable version of your pages.

Where it falls short

  • $250 a month for 4 engines, with Claude and Gemini on Enterprise.
  • Core covers 1 persona, 1 country, 1 language and 1 brand workspace.
  • New prompts run daily for 14 days, then every 72 hours.

User reviews

“Of the GEO tools I reviewed it has the most intuitive interface, and it's easy to see which domains and URLs get cited for the prompts we target.” (Source)

“I'd like insights for prospects faster, without needing four weeks of data as a baseline.” (Source)

“New features often reach the API before the dashboard.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Core: $250/month for 125 prompts on 4 engines, 5 seats and 5 site audits
  • Enterprise: custom, with 9 engines, custom prompts, AXP, API and SSO
  • 7-day free trial on Core.

8. AthenaHQ: best for many engines

AthenaHQ AI search visibility dashboard

AthenaHQ is a Y Combinator-backed AI search platform with a free plan and 11 AI models on its $295 Starter plan, which suits growth teams that want Grok, Copilot and Mistral tracked next to Claude and Gemini. AthenaHQ asked us to book a sales call before giving access, so this section is based on its docs, pricing page and G2 reviews.

Its docs say setup only needs a domain. AthenaHQ drafts a brand profile, suggests about 10 competitors and 10 prompts, and links every metric back to the stored answers behind it.

Usage runs on credits, one per AI response. Starter comes with 3,600, with unlimited prompts and topics, which go quickly across 11 engines.

Starter also adds on-page and off-page actions and a content optimization agent, so it covers some of the drafting Knowatoa's agents do. There's nothing between the free plan and $295, though.

Key features

  • 11 models on Starter, including AI Mode, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral.
  • Free Essentials plan. 300 credits on ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, Gemini and Copilot.
  • Actions and content optimization agent, from Starter.
  • Clickable metrics. Share of voice, mention rate and citation rate, each linked to the answers.
  • Unlimited seats on every plan.

Where it falls short

  • No plan between free and $295 a month.
  • Self-serve plans cover one country.
  • Personas, the Recommendation Engine, BI exports and SSO are Enterprise only.

User reviews

“It tracks where we show up in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude without an add-on fee.” (Source)

“Local business schema and map pack visibility aren't part of the platform, so we still need separate tools for local SEO.” (Source)

“Nothing in the UI explained the difference between citation rate and mention rate. I had to ask support.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Essentials: free, with 300 credits on 5 engines
  • Starter: $295/month, about $245 billed yearly, for 3,600 credits on 11 engines
  • Enterprise: custom
  • API access and extra credits are paid add-ons.

9. SE Visible: best for agencies

SE Ranking AI search visibility report

SE Visible is SE Ranking's standalone AI visibility tracker, with 200 prompts pooled across 3 projects, daily checks and unlimited users from $99, which suits agencies that like Knowatoa's multi-site setup but want the limit in writing.

We used the 10-day trial. Setup asks for a brand name, up to five topics, and a country and language. After the first scan it suggested competitors and other names for our brand.

The pooled allowance works a lot like Knowatoa's shared question limit, except SE Visible prints the number. Each prompt counts once however many engines it runs on, and we liked reading each answer exactly as the engine gave it.

Engines hold it back. It tracks four, Claude is still marked coming soon, and there's no Perplexity on the plan cards.

Key features

  • Four engines. ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode and AI Overviews.
  • Pooled prompts. 200, 450 or 1,000 prompts shared across projects and engines.
  • Daily refresh through real browser sessions.
  • Competitor Gap Analysis. Ranks the sources that cite competitors but not you, since July 2026.
  • Unlimited users and an API on every plan, with CSV and XLSX exports.

Where it falls short

  • No Claude yet, and Copilot and Grok aren't tracked.
  • No PDF or white-label reports.
  • Tracking only, with no content drafting or outreach.

User reviews

SE Visible has no reviews on G2 or Capterra yet, so we have no user quotes to share.

Pricing

  • Basic: $99/month for 200 prompts and 3 projects
  • Core: $189/month for 450 prompts and 5 projects
  • Plus: $355/month for 1,000 prompts and 10 projects, by demo
  • Yearly billing saves 20%, and there's a 10-day free trial.

10. Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit: best inside an SEO suite

Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit report

The Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit is Semrush's add-on for tracking how AI search describes your brand, next to the keyword and prompt volume data it's known for, and it suits teams that already plan content in Semrush. Semrush has been part of Adobe since April 2026.

We clicked AI in the left menu, entered our domain and had an AI Visibility Score out of 100 within a few minutes.

Prompt Research was the report we kept going back to. It works like Keyword Magic for AI questions, with volume and intent estimates from a database of more than 317 million prompts. Knowatoa shows search volume for research questions too, but Semrush pairs it with the rest of your keyword data.

The allowance is small. $99 a month buys 25 prompts for one domain, and each extra domain and user costs more, which is the opposite of Knowatoa's unlimited sites. Engines also vary by report. Prompt Tracking runs daily on ChatGPT Search, AI Mode and Gemini, and Brand Performance adds Perplexity and AI Overviews on a weekly update.

Key features

  • AI Visibility Score. One score out of 100 against up to 4 competitors.
  • Prompt Research. Prompt volume and intent from 317 million+ prompts.
  • Brand Performance. Share of voice, sentiment and cited sources, updated weekly.
  • Prompt Tracking. Daily tracking inside Position Tracking.
  • AI search site audit and the Semrush MCP for Claude.

Where it falls short

  • 25 prompts per domain, and 50 more cost $60 a month.
  • Every extra domain is another $99, and every extra user needs a license.
  • Claude, Grok and DeepSeek are on the Enterprise AIO tier only.
  • It recommends changes but doesn't make them.

User reviews

Most Semrush reviews cover the SEO suite. These two are about the AI toolkit:

“Prompt Research works like Keyword Magic for AI questions, with real volume and intent data.” (Source)

“Cancelling takes a form and an email confirmation within 24 hours, and even support couldn't clearly explain the billing.” (Source)

Pricing

  • AI Visibility Toolkit: $99/month per domain for 25 prompts, billed annually
  • Semrush One: from $199/month with 50 prompts, or $299 for 100
  • There's no standalone free trial. The trial comes through Semrush One.

What changed with Knowatoa in 2026

Knowatoa's prices haven't moved this year. What changed is how the plans are described and what comes with them. We compared archived copies of its pricing page with today's version, its changelog and its docs.

  • The price change came in late 2025. Until October 2025 Knowatoa sold a free plan, Premium at $99 (30 questions on ChatGPT, AI Overviews and Perplexity), Pro at $249 (300 questions on 6 services) and Agency at $749. By November 8, 2025 it had switched to Starter at $59, Growth at $199 and Enterprise from $499. Starter kept 30 questions but swapped Perplexity for AI Mode, and Growth came with 100 questions.
  • Limits came off the pricing page (mid-2026). In April 2026 the page still listed 30 questions and 2,790 answers a month on Starter, and 100 questions and 21,700 answers on Growth. By August the redesigned page had dropped those numbers and Enterprise's $499 floor. The FAQ still says all sites share one question limit.
  • AI agents on every plan. The pricing table now includes agents on Starter. Sam researches content gaps and Connie drafts articles, with a Publishing Queue since May 18, and Sophie turns those articles into LinkedIn and Bluesky posts. Approved articles can publish to WordPress, GitHub or Payload.
  • Daily refresh, with a monthly option. The docs say current plans refresh daily and older paid plans weekly. Since June 8, support can switch a whole account to monthly.
  • MCP and reporting. An MCP server arrived on April 20, with ChatGPT setup added in June. In October it added client site setup from an AI assistant, period-over-period comparisons and sentiment counts. The API, MCP, Looker Studio and NinjaCat are on Growth.
  • Setup changes (August). Suggested questions now come from the keywords your site ranks for plus competitor gaps, you keep up to three competitors during setup, and the trial checkout asks for a card up front, though you aren't charged during the trial.
  • Smaller additions. Citation categories (January), search volume for research questions (January), Reddit and YouTube citation detail (February), question tags (March) and competitor sitemap analysis (April).

When to stay with Knowatoa

We haven't used Knowatoa ourselves, so this is based on its pricing page, docs and changelog.

Stay with Knowatoa if:

  • You run many small sites and want them all on one account with a shared question budget.
  • ChatGPT and Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode are the engines that matter to you, and $59 covers them.
  • You want agents that research gaps and draft articles and social posts, with an approval step, on the entry plan.
  • You need Meta AI tracked next to Claude, Gemini and Perplexity.
  • You track in several languages and markets, which every plan includes.

User reviews

Knowatoa's G2 profile has no reviews yet, and we found no Capterra, Trustpilot or Product Hunt reviews to quote.

  • You want 11 models and guided actions: AthenaHQ.

AI answers shift from day to day, so judge any of these on the trend over a few weeks, not a single reading.
