10 Best Tools for Monitoring Google AI Overviews in 2026

The best tools for monitoring Google AI Overviews in November 2026 are Orchly, SE Ranking, Semrush, Ahrefs and ZipTie, with Otterly.AI, Nightwatch, Advanced Web Ranking, seoClarity and Knowatoa worth a look for narrower jobs. We judged all 10 on which plan includes AI Overviews, what it costs, how many keywords or prompts it covers, how often it re-checks, which countries it supports, and whether it shows that an AI Overview appeared, whether you were cited and which sources were.

Search Console now reports AI Overview impressions, but no clicks, queries or competitors, so you still need a tracker to see who gets cited instead of you. Rank trackers count keywords and AI visibility tools count prompts, and the table below shows both. Prices checked in November 2026.

Editor's note

How we checked these AI Overview trackers

We used Otterly.AI, the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit and SE Visible on their trials or entry plans, ran our usual buyer prompts and looked at:

  • Which plan includes Google AI Overviews, and what it really costs
  • Keywords or prompts on that plan, refresh rate and countries
  • Whether it shows the AI Overview, your citation and the other sources, and what it does next

We haven't tested Ahrefs Brand Radar, ZipTie, Nightwatch, Advanced Web Ranking, seoClarity or Knowatoa, so those sections come from pricing pages, help docs and reviews. Review quotes are condensed from G2, Capterra, OMR, Product Hunt and Trustpilot and link to the original.

Orchly is our product. We held it to the same checks and say where it falls short. Checked November 2026.

1. Orchly: best AI Overviews tracker to win more AI Overview citations

Orchly AI visibility overview showing AI Visibility Score, Share of Voice, sentiment, average position and a competitor leaderboard
Orchly's AI visibility overview, including Google AI Overviews

Orchly is an agentic AI search optimization platform. Its AI Overview tracker runs your prompts every day in Google, reading the AI Overview the way a real person sees it rather than through an API, for the country and language you set on each prompt. It records whether you're mentioned or cited, your position among the brands listed and every page the AI Overview links to. ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews are included on every plan, with Gemini, Google AI Mode, Claude, Grok and Microsoft Copilot as paid add-ons, and it also tracks Meta AI and DeepSeek.

Its agents run on their own, on a schedule. They analyze your AI visibility, your competitors, your SEO and your Search Console and GA4 data, decide what to write and which pages to refresh, and do it in your brand voice. They keep Brand Brain up to date, find the sites, people and Reddit threads worth reaching, run the outreach and draft the replies, and audit your site for technical SEO and AI search issues with the fixes ranked. You decide whether each agent runs on its own or waits for your approval.

Most tools on this list give you an AI Overview report and a to-do list. Orchly's agents run the work end to end, from $49 a month with a 7-day free trial.

Citations, mentions and the pages behind them

  • Mentioned vs cited. See when AI Overviews name your brand and when they link to your page, next to each competitor.
  • Citations and Mention Gap. Every URL cited in the AI Overview, and the cited pages that mention competitors but not you.

Mention Gap: cited pages that skip you
  • Query fan-outs. In Ahrefs' updated study, only 37.9% of URLs cited in AI Overviews also ranked in the top 10, down from 76% in its earlier study, and Ahrefs links the change to the fan-out searches Google runs behind each answer. Orchly shows those fan-out queries, so you know what your pages need to rank for.

The Search Console side, in the same place

  • Organic clicks and revenue. Orchly pulls clicks, impressions, conversions and revenue from Google Search Console and GA4, so you can see whether AI Overviews are eating clicks on the pages that matter.

  • Indexing report. A page Google hasn't indexed can't be cited in an AI Overview. Orchly flags pages that are crawled but not indexed.

  • Page 360 and rank tracking. Each URL's Search Console, GA4 and AI data on one screen, plus a Google rank tracker by country and device.

Getting cited more often

  • Content Agent. Picks the searches where AI Overviews cite competitors, writes new articles and refreshes existing pages in your brand voice, and publishes them to your CMS, directly or after your approval.

  • Site Health Agent. Finds the technical issues that keep pages out of AI Overviews, like blocked crawlers, missing schema and indexing problems, and ranks the fixes.

Where Orchly falls short

  • Prompt-based, not keyword-based. Orchly tracks questions the way buyers ask them. If you want to check AI Overview presence across thousands of short keywords, a rank tracker like Semrush or Advanced Web Ranking fits that job better.
  • Other engines cost extra. ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews are included. Gemini, AI Mode, Claude, Grok and Copilot are paid add-ons.
  • No prompt volume estimates. Orchly suggests prompts from your market and site, but doesn't estimate how often each one is asked. Semrush and Ahrefs do.

Orchly pricing

  • Essential: $49/month for 25 prompts refreshed daily, AI Overviews included, 20 articles, 1 site and 1 user
  • Pro: $125/month for 100 prompts, 50 articles, 3 sites and 5 users, with AI traffic analytics, custom agents and white-label reports
  • Enterprise: custom, with a customer success manager
  • There's a 7-day free trial, and yearly billing saves 25%.

2. SE Ranking: best dedicated AI Overview and AI Mode tracker

SE Ranking AI Overviews tracker report

SE Ranking is an SEO platform whose AI Results Tracker checks Google AI Overviews, AI Mode and ChatGPT for your prompts every day, next to classic rank tracking, which suits SEO teams that want AI Overview citations and keyword rankings in the same tool.

We've used SE Visible, SE Ranking's standalone AI visibility product, on its trial. The AI Search add-on inside the main SE Ranking platform is a separate purchase, so what follows on the add-on comes from SE Ranking's pricing page and docs.

The setup is two layers. Core costs $129 a month and tracks 2,000 keywords and 100 AI prompts daily. The AI Search add-on starts at $89 a month for 200 prompts and adds unlimited competitor research across AI Overviews, AI Mode and ChatGPT, so the realistic entry point for AI Overview monitoring is about $218 a month.

What you get for that is a dashboard of brand mentions, citations and sentiment trends, and competitor research that shows which domains AI Overviews lean on in your niche. It's a tracker and research tool. SE Ranking doesn't write content or run outreach based on what it finds.

Key features

  • AI Results Tracker. Daily checks on AI Overviews, AI Mode and ChatGPT for your prompts.
  • Mentions, citations and sentiment in one dashboard, with trends over time.
  • AI competitor research. Unlimited reports on who AI Overviews, AI Mode and ChatGPT cite.
  • Rank tracking in the same project. 2,000 keywords tracked daily on Core.
  • API credits and MCP access on every plan.

Where it falls short

  • AI tracking costs extra on top of Core.
  • No Perplexity, Claude or Copilot in the AI Results Tracker.
  • One manager seat on Core.

User reviews

These come from SE Ranking's Trustpilot page and cover the platform as a whole.

“I use it for my agency, and I love that I can research AI search for our website too.” (Source)

“You get as much as the more expensive tools for about a third of the price, and the data seems accurate.” (Source)

“Keywords often show as deindexed when they aren't, and the daily scan often doesn't even finish.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Core: $129/month ($103.20 billed yearly) for 2,000 keywords and 100 prompts tracked daily
  • Growth: $279/month for 5,000 keywords, 250 prompts and 3 manager seats
  • AI Search add-on: from $89/month ($71.20 yearly) for 200 prompts, with 450 and 1,000 prompt tiers
  • There's a 14-day free trial with 750 keywords and 20 AI prompts a day.

3. Semrush: best for AI Overview citations inside rank tracking

Semrush AI visibility and AI Overview tracking

Semrush records AI Overviews as a SERP feature in its daily Position Tracking reports, showing which of your tracked keywords trigger an AI Overview and whether your domain is cited, which suits teams that already track rankings in Semrush.

We've used the AI Visibility Toolkit ourselves. Position Tracking's AI Overview reporting we know from Semrush's help center, not from our own tests.

In Position Tracking, you filter the Overview report by the "AI Overviews" SERP feature to see the keywords that triggered one and the ones where your domain is a source. When you're cited, Semrush counts it as a #1 ranking, wherever your page sits in the organic results below.

For brand mentions without a link, and for prompts rather than keywords, you need the AI Visibility Toolkit. Its Prompt Tracking runs daily on AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini and ChatGPT Search, and Semrush says the answers come from real requests, not APIs. We liked the AI Visibility Score out of 100, which is easy to explain to a manager, but 25 prompts per domain went fast.

Key features

  • AI Overviews in Position Tracking. Which tracked keywords trigger an AI Overview, and where your domain is a source.
  • Daily rank tracking down to ZIP code level, with competitors side by side.
  • Prompt Tracking in the AI Visibility Toolkit, daily on AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini and ChatGPT Search.
  • Prompt Research from a database of 317 million+ prompts.

Where it falls short

  • Unlinked brand mentions and prompt tracking need the toolkit, priced per domain.
  • 25 prompts per domain on the toolkit, and each extra domain costs another $99.
  • It recommends changes but doesn't make them.

User reviews

Few Semrush reviews are about its AI tracking, and we've quoted these two before, so here are parts we hadn't used.

“Position Tracking gives me a clear day-to-day view of movement without digging through reports. History is capped on our plan, so year-on-year comparisons mean a higher tier.” (Source)

“As an agency, every brand we added kept billing $99 a month.” (Source)

Pricing

  • SEO plan: $139/month ($117.33 billed yearly), with Position Tracking and AI Overview reporting
  • Semrush One Starter: $199/month ($165.17 yearly) with 50 tracked AI prompts
  • AI Visibility Toolkit: $99/month per domain for 25 prompts, billed annually
  • There's a 7-day trial on SEO and Semrush One plans, and a free account tracks 10 keywords.

4. Ahrefs: best free way to start

Ahrefs Brand Radar AI mentions and share of voice

Ahrefs offers a free AI Overviews Tracker that shows how AI Overviews mention a brand, which of its pages they cite and which sources they pull in instead, with no signup, which makes it the easiest way to see where you stand before paying for anything.

We haven't run Brand Radar ourselves (there's no trial), so this section comes from Ahrefs' pages and docs.

The free tool and Brand Radar draw on the same data. One index uses short keywords from Ahrefs' Keywords Explorer and records whether your brand appears in the AI Overview each one triggers. A second index runs long-form questions. Ahrefs says the Google indexes refresh continuously with its keyword database, and its AI Overviews history goes back to August 2024.

It's a database view, not tracking of your own list. For that you need Custom Prompts, which you set up yourself and run daily, weekly or monthly. Every paid Ahrefs plan includes a few a day (5 on Lite), and larger packs start at $50 a month.

Key features

  • Free AI Overviews Tracker. Mentions, cited pages and competing sources for any brand, no signup.
  • Search-query index. The keywords that trigger an AI Overview and whether your brand appears, for AI Overviews and AI Mode only.
  • Brand Radar. AI visibility across 496 million+ prompts on six AI platforms, filterable by country.
  • Custom Prompts. Your own questions on a cadence you set, including Claude.

Where it falls short

  • The index shows Ahrefs' keywords and prompts, not your exact list, unless you add custom prompts.
  • The full Brand Radar index costs $199 a month per platform, or $699 for all.
  • It reports what's happening but doesn't fix it for you.

User reviews

These are the only Brand Radar reviews we found, and we've quoted both before.

“Trending AI Overview queries are easy to find, but the feature is in beta and the data may be a little inaccurate.” (Source)

“It covers many LLMs and countries, though the metrics change every time the index updates.” (Source)

Pricing

  • AI Overviews Tracker: free, no signup
  • Brand Radar AI Visibility Index: from $199/month per platform, $699/month for all platforms
  • Custom Prompts: included in small daily amounts on paid Ahrefs plans (Lite 5, Standard 10, Advanced 20), with packs from $50/month
  • There's no free trial of Brand Radar.

5. ZipTie: best for AI Overviews next to organic results

ZipTie is an AI search tracker that checks Google AI Overviews and captures the top 10 organic results for your domain on the same query at no extra cost, which suits SEOs who want to compare AI Overview citations with their rankings.

We haven't used ZipTie ourselves. This section comes from its pricing page and docs.

Pricing is built rather than tiered. You choose how many prompts run daily, weekly or monthly and on how many of its 7 engines, at about a cent a check, and every engine costs the same. The Starter preset, 30 daily prompts on 3 engines, comes to $25.65 a month.

The engines a project runs depend on its country. Seats, projects and competitors are unlimited, and white-label PDF reports come on every plan, which helps agencies. ZipTie doesn't refund paid plans, so use the 7-day trial first.

Key features

  • AI Overviews next to organic results. The top 10 Google results for your domain come with every AI Overview check.
  • 7 engines at one price, including AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot, Gemini and Bing's AI Overview.
  • Cadence per project. Daily, weekly or monthly prompt slots.
  • Search Console connection, read-only, with clicks and impressions next to AI data.
  • Unlimited seats, projects and competitors.

Where it falls short

  • API and MCP access cost $10 a month extra, and content generation is a paid add-on.
  • No Claude or Grok.
  • No refunds on paid plans.

User reviews

ZipTie has one written review we could find, and we've quoted it before.

“I can track prompts and see our AI rankings on Google, ChatGPT and Perplexity, but sometimes projects don't populate, with no clear reason.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Starter preset: from $25.65/month for 30 daily prompts on 3 engines
  • Professional: from $340.20/month
  • Enterprise: from $1,647/month
  • About $0.01 per prompt per engine, yearly billing saves 20%, and there's a 7-day free trial (25 daily prompts on ChatGPT, AI Overviews and Copilot, no card).

6. Otterly.AI: best budget AI Overview tracker

Otterly.AI AI Overview monitoring dashboard

Otterly.AI is a low-cost AI search monitoring tool that includes Google AI Overviews on every plan from $29 a month, with daily checks and unlimited seats, which suits small teams that want AI Overview citations tracked without an enterprise budget.

We signed up and added our brand. Otterly built a competitor list and suggested prompts by itself, and the first report was ready in about 15 minutes.

Every plan runs four engines: ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot. We liked opening a prompt and reading the AI Overview answer next to the sources it cited, split by domain and URL.

Two things held us back. Lite's 15 prompts go quickly, and the next plan is $189. Otterly also doesn't show your organic rankings, so you can't see an AI Overview citation next to where the same page ranks.

Key features

  • AI Overviews on every plan, with ChatGPT, Perplexity and Copilot, checked daily.
  • Citation reports by domain and URL, with changes over time.
  • Brand Visibility Index. Sorts brands into Leaders, Niche and Low Performance.
  • GEO URL audits and recommendations, capped at 3 a week on Lite.
  • Unlimited seats, plus API and MCP access from Standard.

Where it falls short

  • 15 prompts on Lite, then a big jump to $189.
  • AI Mode, Gemini and Claude are paid add-ons.
  • No organic ranking data, content writing or outreach.

User reviews

Most of Otterly's reviews have appeared in our other roundups, so we kept this to two, one with a part we hadn't quoted.

“It's a strong tool for watching how our brand and content show up across Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity.” (Source)

“Classic Google ranking data would help, because you can hardly look at AI Overviews on their own.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Lite: $29/month for 15 prompts
  • Standard: $189/month for 100 prompts
  • Premium: $489/month for 400 prompts
  • Yearly billing saves 15%, extra 100 prompts cost $99, and there's a free trial.

7. Nightwatch: best rank tracker with daily AI checks

Nightwatch rank tracking with AI visibility

Nightwatch is a rank tracker that also checks AI answers daily, including Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, on every plan from €79 a month, which suits teams that want keyword rankings and AI Overview tracking in one place.

We haven't used Nightwatch ourselves. This section comes from its pricing page.

Starter tracks 500 keywords daily in any location or language, plus 50 AI prompts with 1,500 AI answers a month. Those answers come from six platforms on every plan: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Mode and AI Overview.

That answer allowance is the limit to watch. 50 prompts on six platforms every day would need about 9,000 answers a month, so on Starter you'll run fewer platforms or fewer checks. Citation analysis, sentiment, Content Studio and an SEO Agent come on every plan.

Key features

  • Six AI platforms on every plan, AI Overviews included.
  • Daily rank tracking in any location or language, on Google, Bing, YouTube and more.
  • Citation analysis. Which sources AI answers cite, and how often.
  • SEO Agent credits and Content Studio on every plan.
  • SEO MCP server for querying your data from Claude or ChatGPT.

Where it falls short

  • 1,500 AI answers a month on Starter won't cover 50 prompts on all six platforms daily.
  • No Copilot or Grok.
  • AI reporting is lighter than in tools built only for AI search.

User reviews

We couldn't find Nightwatch reviews we could link to. It has no Trustpilot page or Product Hunt reviews, and G2 and Capterra block our tools.

Pricing

  • Starter: €79/month billed yearly for 500 keywords, 50 AI prompts and 1,500 AI answers
  • Professional: €159/month for 2,500 keywords and 150 AI prompts
  • Agency: €399/month for 7,500 keywords and 500 AI prompts
  • There's a 14-day free trial with no card, and yearly billing saves 20%.

8. Advanced Web Ranking: best for AI Mode as a separate engine

Advanced Web Ranking (AWR) is a rank tracker that records AI Overviews on desktop and mobile in 170+ countries, with every cited site and a snapshot of the results page, and tracks AI Mode as its own search engine, which suits agencies that report AI Overviews and AI Mode separately.

We haven't used AWR ourselves. This section comes from its pricing page and help center.

AWR offers two Google engines for this. Google Universal picks AI Overviews up in a normal results crawl, which can miss source URLs. Google Search + AIO uses a separate request to capture the AI Overview reliably, and costs twice the keyword units.

Units are the thing to understand. One unit is one keyword checked weekly on one engine and device, so daily tracking uses 7 times as many. AI Mode also costs double. AWR's homepage says it tracks AI Mode and AI Overviews across 170+ countries, though an older help article says AI Mode is US only, so check your market in the trial.

Key features

  • Google Search + AIO. AI Overview citations and organic rankings in one report, desktop and mobile.
  • Top Sites report. Every site and URL cited in the AI Overviews for your keywords.
  • SERP Snapshot. The results page as it looked on each update.
  • AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini tracking, with brand mentions from auto-generated brand aliases.
  • Unlimited users and projects on every plan.

Where it falls short

  • AI Overview and AI Mode tracking use double keyword units, and daily updates use 7 times more.
  • AWR's own pages disagree on whether AI Mode works outside the US.
  • API access and white-label reports start on the $279 Agency plan.

User reviews

We couldn't find AWR reviews we could link to. G2 and Capterra block our tools, and its only Trustpilot review isn't about the product.

Pricing

  • Pro: $139/month for 7,000 keyword units, with AI visibility tracking and AI citations and mentions
  • Agency: $279/month for 14,500 units, with the API and Looker Studio
  • Enterprise: $699/month for 35,500 units
  • Yearly billing saves 10%, and every plan has a 30-day money-back guarantee.

9. seoClarity: best for enterprise AI Overview tracking

seoClarity AI Overview tracking

seoClarity is an enterprise SEO platform that tracks whether AI Overviews mention or cite your brand across its database of more than half a billion keywords, with an ArcAI add-on for nine AI engines, which suits enterprise SEO teams that track keywords at volume.

We haven't used seoClarity ourselves. This section comes from its pricing and product pages.

Its AI Overviews tracking finds every AI Overview that mentions your brand or product in its Research Grid dataset, with the extracted text and cited links. Filters show where mentions or citations rose or fell since the last period, and AI Mode tracking runs on demand.

Everything is quoted. Packages are priced by domains and keywords tracked daily or weekly, and the published starting prices of $2,500 to $4,500 a month date from October 2022. seoClarity does run a free custom trial after a demo.

Key features

  • AI Overviews tracking. Mentions and citations, with extracted text and cited links.
  • Gains and losses filters for mentions and citations since the last period.
  • Clarity ArcAI. Nine AI engines, including AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Copilot, DeepSeek and Grok.
  • Daily or weekly rank tracking with unlimited users.

Where it falls short

  • Quote-only pricing, and the public figures are years old.
  • ArcAI is a separate add-on.
  • Built for enterprise teams, so it's a lot of platform for a small site.

User reviews

We found no reviews of seoClarity's AI tracking itself. These are about the wider platform, one of them a part we hadn't quoted before.

“Being able to choose exactly which ranking types to measure is insightful, and we use the SERP features reporting a lot to decide what to target.” (Source)

“It takes a pretty steep learning curve to get the most out of it.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Research & Content: from $2,500/month
  • Technical SEO: from $3,200/month
  • Enterprise: from $4,500/month
  • Prices are custom by domains and keywords, ArcAI is quoted separately, and there's a free trial after a demo.

10. Knowatoa: best low-cost Google AI check

Knowatoa AI search visibility dashboard

Knowatoa is an AI search monitoring tool whose $59 Starter plan covers Google's AI features, AI Overviews and AI Mode, plus ChatGPT, which suits small teams that care mostly about Google's AI answers.

We haven't used Knowatoa ourselves. This section comes from its pricing page and docs.

Starter includes competitor visibility gaps, the sites AI models cite most, brand sentiment alerts and every language and market you track. Its docs say answers update daily, and you also get a weekly digest of what changed.

The $199 Growth plan opens all 7 services, adding Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Meta AI, plus the API, MCP and Looker Studio. Knowatoa doesn't publish question limits for either plan, so ask before you buy.

Key features

  • AI Overviews, AI Mode and ChatGPT on Starter.
  • Citations report. The sites AI models trust most for your questions.
  • Competitor visibility gaps and brand sentiment alerts.
  • AI agents on every plan.
  • Unlimited sites sharing one question limit.

Where it falls short

  • Question limits aren't published.
  • Perplexity, Gemini and Claude need Growth.
  • The API, MCP and Looker Studio connector start on Growth.

User reviews

We couldn't find user reviews of Knowatoa to link to. It has no reviews on G2, Capterra or Trustpilot.

Pricing

  • Starter: $59/month for ChatGPT, AI Overviews and AI Mode
  • Growth: $199/month for all 7 services, with the API and MCP
  • Enterprise: custom
  • There's a free trial, and annual pricing is available.

Can you track AI Overviews in Google Search Console?

Partly. On June 3, 2026, Google added a Generative AI performance report to Search Console.

  • What it shows: impressions when a page from your site appears in AI Overviews, AI Mode or Discover's AI features, by page, country, device and date.
  • What it doesn't show: clicks, the queries that triggered the answer, or which competitors appeared.

Search Console tells you that you appeared. A monitoring tool tells you where you didn't, and who was cited instead.

Why AI Overview monitoring matters

  • They cut clicks. Re-running its study on December 2025 data, Ahrefs found the top organic result gets about 58% fewer clicks when an AI Overview appears.
  • Ranking isn't enough. In Ahrefs' updated study, only 37.9% of URLs cited in AI Overviews also ranked in the top 10.
  • They change constantly. Ahrefs found AI Overview content changes about every 2 days, so a weekly check misses most of it.
  • AI Mode is a different game. AI Mode and AI Overviews cited the same URLs only 13.7% of the time across 730,000 response pairs in Ahrefs' data.

How we picked

Every tool here tracks Google AI Overviews. We checked each vendor's pricing page and docs in November 2026 and compared them on:

  • Which plan includes AI Overviews, and whether it's included or a paid extra.
  • Keywords or prompts on that plan, since rank trackers count keywords and AI trackers count prompts.
  • Whether it shows an AI Overview appeared, whether your brand is cited or only mentioned, and which sources were cited.
  • How often it re-checks, from daily to weekly.
  • Country support, because AI Overviews differ by market.
  • What it does with the data, from reports to agents that do the work.

Which one should you choose?

  • You want to know why you're missing from AI Overviews and have agents fix it on their own: Orchly.
  • You want AI Overview citations and keyword rankings in one SEO platform: SE Ranking or Semrush.
  • You want a free look before you buy anything: Ahrefs' AI Overviews Tracker plus Search Console's Generative AI report.
  • You want AI Overview citations next to your top 10 organic results, priced per check: ZipTie.
  • You want AI Overviews included for the lowest price: Otterly.AI.
  • You want daily rank tracking and six AI platforms on one plan: Nightwatch.
