The best AthenaHQ alternatives in 2026 price more simply than credits, put more on the plan you can buy, or run more of the follow-up work for you. AthenaHQ tracks up to 11 AI models, but its $295 Starter plan's 3,600 monthly credits cover about 10 prompts if you check all 11 engines every day, and its knowledge base, discrepancy detection and recommendation engine are Enterprise only.
We compared 10 alternatives on pricing model, engines and how much of the work each one handles after it finds a gap. Prices checked in November 2026.
How we compared these AthenaHQ alternatives
We signed up for the trials of Profound, Peec AI, Otterly.AI, Scrunch, Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit, Promptwatch, Rankscale and SE Visible, ran the same buyer prompts through each, and looked at:
- How the pricing works (credits, prompts or domains) and what a month of daily tracking really costs
- Which AI engines are on the plan you can buy without a sales call
- How fast setup is, and whether the tool helps you act on what it finds
AthenaHQ itself only offered access after a sales call, so what we say about it comes from its pricing page, docs and G2 reviews. For Searchable we went by its pricing page, documentation and user reviews. Review quotes are condensed from G2 and Trustpilot and link to the original.
Orchly is our product. We judged it on the same points and list where it falls short. Checked November 2026.

1. Orchly: best AthenaHQ alternative with agents that raise AI visibility
Orchly is an agentic AI visibility platform that tracks your brand across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and other AI engines, then runs the follow-up work with agents that work on their own, on a schedule.
The agents analyze your AI visibility, your competitors and your Search Console and GA4 data. They decide which pages to write or refresh and draft them in your brand voice, keep Brand Brain up to date, find the sites and people worth contacting for citations and run the outreach, draft replies to Reddit threads worth joining, and audit your site's health. You decide whether each agent runs on its own or waits for your approval.
AthenaHQ gives you tracking plus a list of recommended actions. Orchly's agents run the work end to end, and pricing is by prompts, so a month of daily tracking can't run out of credits halfway through.
Agents that run the work
- Content Agent. Turns AI visibility and organic gaps into tasks, then drafts new pages and refreshes old ones in your brand voice with the AI article writer, and publishes to WordPress, Webflow, Framer, Wix, Sanity or Ghost, directly or after your approval.
- Activation Agent. Off-page recommendations become outreach. Mention Gap finds the cited sources that name competitors but not you, and the agent contacts them from your Gmail, Zoho Mail or SMTP inbox.
- Reddit. Finds Reddit threads worth joining in your category and drafts the replies for you to review.
- Site Health Agent. Audits every page for technical and AI search issues and ranks the fixes.
Enterprise-level features on every plan
- Brand Brain. AthenaHQ's Knowledge Base is Enterprise only. Orchly's Brand Brain stores your products, pricing, audience and positioning on every plan, and learns as the agents work.
- Fact check. AthenaHQ's discrepancy detection is Enterprise only. Orchly checks every AI claim against your Brand Brain and flags contradictions.
- Perception. Attributes AI links to your brand, competitor standing and objections.
Search data AthenaHQ doesn't center on
- Search Console and GA4. Organic clicks, conversions and revenue from Google Search Console and GA4, next to your AI data, with Page 360 for every URL.
- Prompts by brand and intent, fan-outs and AI shopping. Branded vs non-branded and intent tags, the background searches behind each answer, and ChatGPT shopping visibility for your products.

Where Orchly falls short
- Fewer engines by default. AthenaHQ Starter covers 11 models. Orchly includes ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews, with Gemini, AI Mode, Claude, Grok and Copilot as add-ons (it also tracks Meta AI and DeepSeek).
- No free plan. AthenaHQ has a free tier. Orchly has a 7-day free trial.
- Fewer seats on Essential. AthenaHQ includes unlimited members.
Pricing
- Essential: $49/month for 25 prompts, checked daily
- Pro: $125/month for 100 prompts, 5 users and custom agents
- Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial.

2. Profound: best enterprise alternative
Profound is an AI visibility platform for large brands that tracks nine AI engines on its Enterprise plan and adds AI Marketer, a set of agents that draft and publish content.
We used the 7-day trial. Profound picks 50 prompts for your industry and runs them on ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews only, so we got a good feel for the interface but not for how it handles our own buyers' questions. There's no history, export or API on the trial.
If you're leaving AthenaHQ because of how it charges, Profound won't feel very different. After its $180M Series D in September 2026 it dropped the $99 and $399 self-serve plans for brands, so brands now buy through sales, and agent work runs on credits.
It does ship quickly. In October alone it added agents you set up by describing the job, AI Marketer inside Microsoft Teams, and page-level SEO data through a partnership with Moz.
Key features
- Nine engines on Enterprise. ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Mode, Gemini, Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude, AI Overviews and Exa, which replaced Grok in September 2026.
- Prompt Volumes. Estimates how often people ask a question, from a panel of more than 1.5 billion prompts in 35 countries.
- AI Marketer. Agents that draft and publish content, with Context Manager learning your brand from your documents.
- Agent Analytics and Shopping. AI crawler visits to your site and product visibility in AI shopping answers.
- MCP and Claude connector. Enterprise only, along with exports, API and SSO.
Where it falls short
- No self-serve plan for brands since September 2026.
- Agent work uses credits on top of the contract.
- The trial runs preset prompts on three engines, so you can't test your own.
- There's a lot of data to learn before the dashboard feels natural.
User reviews
“The weekly summary lets me pull the key numbers fast and share them with the team.” (Source)
“It gives us real insight into where our clients rank in LLMs. Finding where things live in the product can be confusing, though it gets better with time.” (Source)
“Having built similar workflows in-house, the pricing feels a bit high, even if it saves us maintaining our own.” (Source)
Pricing
- Brands: custom Enterprise pricing through sales
- Agencies: a separate self-serve Agency Growth plan
- Trial: 7 days free, with 50 preset prompts on ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews
3. Peec AI: best simple tracker with flat pricing
Peec AI is a prompt-based AI visibility tracker for SEO and content teams that want clean daily tracking with no credits to manage.
We signed up and had data flowing without a sales call. Peec reads your site, suggests competitors and prompts, and starts tracking daily. The dashboard is one of the cleaner ones we used, and it was easy to show to people who don't live in SEO tools.
Plans are priced by prompts and models, which made it much easier to plan than AthenaHQ's credits. Starter is €85 a month for 50 prompts on any three models, which works out to 4,500 answers a month, and every plan has unlimited users. An extra model on Starter costs €25 a month, and Claude, Grok and DeepSeek are listed on Enterprise.
It has also moved fast this year. Actions arrived in February, an MCP server in April, Shopping in June, ChatGPT ads in July, and Brand Perception with fact checking and GA4 AI referrals in September.
Key features
- Any 3 models. Choose from ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Gemini, Copilot and Naver AI on every self-serve plan. Perplexity costs extra.
- Source analytics. Cited domains and URLs, each classed as competitor, editorial, reference or UGC.
- Brand Perception. Attribute scores, recurring objections and a fact check against facts you set.
- Recommended actions. Ranked earned and owned opportunities, plus agent actions built from your data.
- Agent analytics. AI crawler visits from Vercel, Cloudflare, AWS, Akamai and other log sources.
- MCP. Ask about your Peec data from Claude, ChatGPT or other assistants. API access is on Enterprise.
Where it falls short
- Three models per plan, and each extra model is a paid add-on.
- Claude, Grok and DeepSeek are Enterprise only.
- Reviewers say the default prompts and recommendations need manual cleanup.
User reviews
“I find myself checking the trend lines every day.” (Source)
“It's easy to start without a long sales process. But it shows how our visibility is tracking without clear recommendations on how to improve it.” (Source)
“About 40% of the 50 suggested prompts overlapped, so we were tracking the same things several times.” (Source)
Pricing
- Starter: €85/month for 50 prompts on 3 models
- Pro: €205/month for 150 prompts on 3 models
- Advanced: €425/month for 350 prompts, multi-country tracking and Looker Studio
- Extra models start at €25/month on Starter. There's a free trial.
4. Otterly.AI: best budget alternative
Otterly.AI is a low-cost AI visibility tracker that suits small teams and agencies who want daily data on four engines from $29 a month.
We signed up for the free trial, which didn't ask for a card. You add your brand, Otterly builds a competitor list and suggests prompts, and our first report was ready in about 15 minutes. The dashboard opens on coverage, position and sentiment against your competitors, and that's the view we kept coming back to.
There are no credits to watch, which is a relief after AthenaHQ. Prompts run every day on every plan, and seats and workspaces are unlimited.
The low price comes with a low prompt count, though. Lite has 15 prompts, enough for a test but not for a whole category, and AI Mode, Gemini and Claude cost extra on every plan. All seven engines on Standard come to about $416 a month.
Key features
- Four engines included. ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot.
- Brand Visibility Index. Places each brand in Leaders, Niche or Low Performance quadrants.
- GEO audit. 1,000, 5,000 or 10,000 URL audits a month, depending on the plan.
- ChatGPT ads and shopping cards. Shown next to your prompts since June 2026.
- Agent Analytics. AI crawler visits from your server logs, added in August 2026.
- API, MCP and Looker Studio. API and MCP from the Standard plan.
Where it falls short
- 15 prompts on Lite.
- AI Mode, Gemini and Claude are paid add-ons.
- Crawler visits aren't linked to the prompts that cited you.
- No content writing or outreach.
User reviews
“Being able to see the exact response for each prompt is a game changer.” (Source)
“The monitoring is useful, but it's not always clear what to do with the findings. At this price I expected more concrete guidance.” (Source)
“I'd like more advanced filtering and more customizable reporting.” (Source)
Pricing
- Lite: $29/month for 15 prompts
- Standard: $189/month for 100 prompts
- Premium: $489/month for 400 prompts
- Engine add-ons start at $9/month. Yearly billing saves 15%, and the free trial needs no card.
5. Scrunch: best for technical AEO
Scrunch is an AI visibility platform, now owned by Sitecore, for teams that care about how AI crawlers read their site as much as what AI answers say about them.
We used the 7-day trial. Scrunch drafts a brand description from your site for you to confirm, then you add competitors, a persona and your topics. New prompts run daily for the first 14 days and every 72 hours after that, so the first two weeks feel busier than the rest.
Next to AthenaHQ, the self-serve Core plan is cheaper at $250 a month, but it's also narrower. You get 125 prompts on four engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot. Claude, Gemini, Meta AI, AI Mode and Grok are Enterprise only, so if you came to AthenaHQ for its engine list, Core won't replace it.
AXP, the CDN product that serves AI agents a simpler version of your pages, is also on Enterprise. Sitecore bought Scrunch in June 2026, in a deal reported at up to $225M.
Key features
- Four engines on Core. ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot, with nine on Enterprise.
- 5,000 responses a month. For 125 prompts, 5 competitors and 1 persona on Core.
- Site audit and Agent Traffic. 5 site audits a month, plus AI bot traffic once your CDN or host is connected.
- GA4 AI referrals. AI referral visits next to your visibility data.
- AXP. Serves AI agents a simplified page at the CDN edge, on Enterprise.
Where it falls short
- Claude, Gemini, AI Mode, Meta AI and Grok need Enterprise.
- Core covers one country, one language and one persona.
- Prompts refresh every 72 hours after the first 14 days.
- No content creation or outreach.
User reviews
“It's easy to surface the domains and URLs getting cited for the prompts we target.” (Source)
“The GA4 integration has been buggy, and switching between our two properties isn't easy.” (Source)
“Of the tools we tested it had the best price and the most actionable data. I'd still like raw mention counts instead of percentages on the dashboard.” (Source)
Pricing
- Core: $250/month for 125 prompts, 4 engines and 5 seats
- Enterprise: custom, adding Claude, Gemini, Meta AI, AI Mode, Grok, AXP and API access
- Core has a 7-day free trial.
6. Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit: best inside an SEO suite
Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit is an add-on to the Semrush SEO suite, best for teams that already do their keyword and rank tracking in Semrush.
We tried it on the 7-day trial. You click AI in the left menu, enter your domain and get an AI Visibility Score out of 100, then add up to four competitors. Prompt Research was the report we used most. It works like Keyword Magic, but for questions people ask AI, with volume estimates.
The engines change by report, which confused us at first. Brand Performance covers ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode, AI Overviews and Perplexity and updates weekly. Prompt Tracking runs daily, but only on ChatGPT Search, AI Mode and Gemini.
Pricing is per domain. $99 a month buys 25 prompts for one domain, and each extra domain is another $99, which adds up quickly if you track several brands in AthenaHQ today.
Key features
- AI Visibility Score. A 0 to 100 score for your domain against up to four competitors.
- Prompt Research. Volume estimates for AI questions by topic.
- Brand Performance. Share of voice, sentiment and the questions people ask about your brand, updated weekly.
- Prompt Tracking. Daily AI tracking inside Position Tracking.
- Semrush MCP. Ask about your Semrush data from Claude in plain language.
Where it falls short
- 25 prompts per domain on the base plan.
- Claude, Grok and DeepSeek are only on the Enterprise AIO tier.
- Each extra user needs its own license.
- It recommends changes but doesn't make them.
User reviews
“Prompt Research works like Keyword Magic for AI questions.” (Source)
“The AI Visibility score gives our AEO and GEO work a clear direction. But we use it heavily through the MCP, and the API units run out faster than we expect.” (Source)
“Every brand you add triggers a new $99 monthly charge, and removing one takes a support ticket.” (Source)
Pricing
- AI Visibility Toolkit: $99/month per domain for 25 prompts
- Extra prompts: $60/month for 50 more
- Semrush One: from $199/month with 50 prompts
- Semrush offers a 7-day trial on its SEO and AI plans.
7. Promptwatch: best mid-priced all-rounder
Promptwatch is an Amsterdam-based AI search visibility platform that pairs prompt tracking with crawler logs and content writing, aimed at growth teams and agencies.
Getting started with Promptwatch was quick. You enter your URL and pick 5 prompts, and it collects answers from the chatbot interfaces people actually use rather than through APIs. There's a lot on screen, and it took us a while to find our way around.
The Essential plan lists all seven core models: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google, Claude, Gemini, Meta and DeepSeek. The limit is the response allowance. Essential includes 6,000 responses a month, and 50 prompts on seven models every day would need 10,500, so in practice you'd run fewer models or check less often.
Content writing and refresh, the knowledge base and Agent Analytics start on Professional at $245 a month. Shopping Insights and Ads Radar come with Business.
Key features
- Wide model list. ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Copilot, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Meta, DeepSeek and Mistral.
- Agent Chat. Ask questions about your visibility data on every plan.
- Content writing and refresh. From Professional, grounded in a knowledge base.
- Agent Analytics. AI crawler visits to your pages, from Professional.
- Integrations. WordPress, Webflow, Framer, Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools and Slack.
- MCP and API. On every plan.
Where it falls short
- The response cap limits how many models you can run daily.
- Content tools need the $245 plan.
- The Business plan is sold by demo.
User reviews
Promptwatch has 21 reviews on G2 with an average of 4.6 out of 5, but we couldn't load the individual reviews to quote them here. G2's summary of those reviews lists ease of use as the most common positive and complexity, a busy interface with a learning curve, as the most common complaint (Source).
Pricing
- Essential: $95/month for 50 prompts and 6,000 responses
- Professional: $245/month for 150 prompts and 18,000 responses
- Business: $579/month for 350 prompts and 42,000 responses, by demo
- Essential and Professional have a 7-day free trial.
8. Rankscale: best for granular control
Rankscale is a credit-based AI rank tracker for hands-on SEOs and agencies who want to choose the engines and schedule for each prompt themselves.
Rankscale uses credits like AthenaHQ, but we found a credit goes much further. The setup is more hands-on than most trackers, and the interface felt busy at first, but you get real control over what runs and when. A run on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini or AI Mode costs 0.25 credits, DeepSeek costs 1 and Claude costs 2, and each prompt can run hourly, daily, weekly or monthly.
In practice, Pro's 1,200 monthly credits come to up to 4,800 answers. Unused credits roll over, up to twice your monthly allowance on Pro.
Every paid plan lists ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Gemini, DeepSeek, Mistral, Claude and Copilot, plus API models, and Rankscale recently added Meta's Muse Spark.
Key features
- Per-prompt engines and schedules. Hourly to monthly, so you only pay for the checks you need.
- Query fan-out. The background searches engines run while answering your prompts, on every plan.
- ChatGPT follow-up forms. The clarifying questions ChatGPT asks before it recommends brands.
- Local, shopping and ad analytics. Map packs, shopping cards and sponsored ads in ChatGPT, AI Mode and Copilot.
- AI visits. A read-only Cloudflare connection shows AI crawler and assistant visits.
- Unlimited seats. Team workspaces from Pro, plus an MCP server.
Where it falls short
- It's still credit-based, so you plan prompts times engines times schedule.
- Essentials is sold yearly only and includes 120 credits.
- Scout gives recommendations, but there's no content writing or outreach.
User reviews
Rankscale has only two reviews on G2, both 5 stars:
“It shows citation rates clearly, and the comparison with competitors is helpful.” (Source)
“It's the most flexible LLM rank tracking on the market, though the UI feels a little overwhelming at first.” (Source)
Pricing
- Essentials: $17/month, billed yearly only, for 120 credits
- Pro: $99/month for 1,200 credits
- Pro+: $229/month for 3,000 credits and REST API access
- Growth ($385) and Enterprise ($780) add credits and agency features. Pro has a 7-day free trial, and yearly billing saves 15%.
9. Searchable: best for tracking plus content
Searchable is a London-based AI visibility platform that bundles tracking, page audits and article writing, which suits small in-house teams that want content in the same subscription.
We didn't test Searchable for this piece, so this comes from its pricing page, docs and Trustpilot reviews. Pro costs $125 a month for 100 tracked prompts per model, 200 page audits, 20 articles and one project, with daily tracking and unlimited seats.
ChatGPT, AI Overviews and Perplexity are included. Copilot, DeepSeek, AI Mode, Gemini, Grok and Claude are paid add-ons, and the cheaper Claude Lite and Grok Lite options answer from training data with web search off, so they don't return live citations.
Reviewers like the GA4, Search Console and WordPress connections. The most detailed negative review we found describes a content editor that kept breaking and support that took days to reply.
Key features
- Three engines included. ChatGPT, AI Overviews and Perplexity, with six more as add-ons.
- Content Studio. 20 articles a month on Pro.
- Technical audits. 200 page audits a month on Pro.
- Agent Analytics and AI shopping data. Included on every plan.
- Integrations. GA4, Search Console and WordPress, plus MCP and API on every plan.
Where it falls short
- Only three engines before add-ons.
- 12 months of data retention on Pro.
- White-label reports and Looker Studio start on the $400 Scale plan.
- Some users report bugs in the content editor.
User reviews
“It gives us a lot of visibility and direction for our AI go-to-market strategy.” (Source)
“The GA4, Search Console and WordPress integrations make it easy to go from insight to action. The UI is clean and the insights are well structured.” (Source)
“The content editor breaks every time, and at over $100 a month for the cheapest plan that's not acceptable.” (Source)
Pricing
- Pro: $125/month for 100 prompts per model, 20 articles and 1 project
- Scale: $400/month for 500 prompts per model, 80 articles and 10 projects
- Enterprise: from $999/month for 1,250 prompts per model
- Pro and Scale have a 14-day free trial. Extra models are paid add-ons.
10. SE Visible: best for agencies
SE Visible is SE Ranking's standalone AI visibility tool, priced by prompts pooled across projects, which makes it a good fit for agencies tracking several brands.
We used the 10-day free trial. Setup asks for your brand name, up to five topics, and a country and language, then it finds prompts and tags them by intent and funnel stage. After the first scan it suggested competitors and other names for our brand, which saved some typing.
Answers are collected through real browser sessions and refresh daily. A prompt counts once however many engines it runs on, and the allowance is shared across projects. Coming from AthenaHQ's per-response credits, we found that much easier to plan.
The engine list is short. Current plans show ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode and AI Overviews, with Claude marked as coming soon and Copilot on the roadmap.
Key features
- Pooled prompts. 200 prompts across 3 projects on Basic, 450 across 5 on Core.
- Four headline metrics. Visibility, share of voice, average position and net sentiment.
- Full answers. Read each engine's answer, and for AI Overviews see the overlap with the organic top 20.
- Unlimited users. On every plan.
- API on every plan. Plus CSV and XLSX exports.
Where it falls short
- Four engines, with no Claude, Grok or Copilot yet.
- No PDF export or white-label reports.
- It tracks without creating content or doing outreach.
User reviews
SE Visible has no reviews on G2 or Capterra yet, so there's nothing to quote here.
Pricing
- Basic: $99/month for 200 prompts and 3 projects
- Core: $189/month for 450 prompts and 5 projects
- Plus: $355/month for 1,000 prompts and 10 projects, by demo
- Yearly billing saves 20%, and there's a 10-day free trial.
What AthenaHQ's credits actually buy
AthenaHQ charges 1 credit per AI response. Here's what the Starter plan's 3,600 monthly credits cover:
| Engines checked daily | Credits per prompt per month | Prompts covered |
|---|---|---|
| 11 (all models) | 330 | About 10 |
| 5 engines | 150 | 24 |
| 3 engines | 90 | 40 |
| 1 engine | 30 | 120 |
