11 Best HubSpot AEO Alternatives for AI Search Visibility (2026)

Most teams start looking at HubSpot AEO alternatives a month or two after they switch the tool on. HubSpot AEO costs $50 a month on its own and comes with Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise, but it tracks 25 prompts on three engines, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, with no Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Claude or Copilot, and it's still labeled Beta.

The 11 tools below cover more engines, more prompts or more of the follow-up work, and we also say when staying on HubSpot makes sense. Prices checked in November 2026.

Editor's note

How we compared these HubSpot AEO alternatives

We ran Peec AI, Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit, Otterly.AI, SE Visible, Profound, Scrunch, Promptwatch and Writesonic on their trials or entry plans with the same B2B buyer prompts, and held each one up against HubSpot AEO on:

  • Engines and prompts on the plan you can actually buy
  • How often data refreshes, and how long setup takes
  • What it does with the findings, and what a month really costs

We haven't used HubSpot AEO itself, so its details come from HubSpot's product, pricing and help pages and G2 reviews. AthenaHQ needed a sales call and we haven't run LLMrefs, so those sections follow their docs. Review quotes are condensed from G2 and Product Hunt and link to the original.

Orchly is our product. We judged it on the same points and say where it falls short. Checked November 2026.

1. Orchly: best HubSpot AEO alternative to track more engines and fix the gaps

Orchly AI visibility overview showing AI Visibility Score, Share of Voice, sentiment, average position and a competitor leaderboard
AI visibility score, share of voice, sentiment and competitors in one view

Orchly is an agentic AI search optimization platform. It tracks your brand every day in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, with Gemini, Google AI Mode, Claude, Grok and Microsoft Copilot as add-ons (it also tracks Meta AI and DeepSeek), and its agents run on their own, on a schedule, across the whole loop.

They analyze your AI visibility, your competitors and your Search Console and GA4 data. They find what to write and which pages to refresh and do it in your brand voice, keep Brand Brain up to date, find the sites, people and Reddit threads worth reaching, run the outreach and draft the replies, and audit your site for technical SEO and AI search issues. You decide whether each agent runs on its own or waits for your approval.

HubSpot AEO gives you a tracker plus a to-do list. Orchly's agents run the work end to end, from $49 a month.

Most people who come to us from HubSpot AEO tell a similar story. The visibility score was useful for a leadership slide, but nobody could say which page to write next or which site to pitch.

More engines, real answers

  • Google is covered by default. ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews are tracked daily on every plan. Gemini, AI Mode, Claude, Grok and Copilot are add-ons.
  • Real interfaces, not an API. Orchly captures answers from the actual ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews interfaces, so you see what a buyer sees.
  • Prompts you can sort. Every prompt is tagged branded or non-branded and by intent, and prompt research suggests new ones for your category.

See which pages AI trusts

HubSpot AEO shows cited domains and content types. Orchly goes one step further with Mention Gap. It reads each cited page and lists the ones that name your competitors but not you.

Orchly Mention Gap showing cited pages that mention competitors but not your brand
Cited pages that name competitors but leave you out

That list is your outreach plan. It's usually a handful of G2 pages, listicles and Reddit threads, not your own blog.

Check what AI says about you

  • Perception. See the attributes AI links to your brand and the objections it raises, with a head-to-head against any competitor.
  • Fact check. Orchly compares AI answers to Brand Brain, your approved facts on pricing, products and policies. Each claim is marked Supported, Contradicted or never mentioned.

For SaaS teams, this is where old pricing and retired plan names show up. See more on Orchly for SaaS.

Agents that run on their own

Orchly's agents work on a schedule without being asked. They keep Brand Brain, your approved facts, voice and positioning, up to date, and you decide whether each agent runs on its own or waits for your approval.

  • Content Agent. Turns lost prompts and decaying Search Console pages into article and refresh tasks, writes them in your brand voice, and publishes to WordPress, Webflow, Framer, Wix, Sanity or Ghost, directly or after your approval.
  • Activation Agent. Finds the backlink sites, people, Reddit threads and YouTube videos AI cites, drafts outreach and Reddit replies, and sends the outreach from your Gmail, Zoho or SMTP inbox once you sign off.
  • Site Health Agent. Audits your pages for technical SEO and AI search issues and ranks them by priority, with a suggested fix for each.

Lost prompts turned into content tasks

In Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise, HubSpot drafts a blog post from a recommendation for 1,000 HubSpot Credits each, and the standalone plan doesn't generate posts at all. Orchly's articles come with the plan, 20 on Essential and 50 on Pro. Here's how the Orchly agents work.

Google data next to AI data

Orchly connects Search Console and GA4, so clicks, conversions and revenue sit next to your AI visibility. Pro adds AI traffic analytics, which splits AI crawler visits from real people arriving from ChatGPT and other assistants.

Orchly organic traffic dashboard combining Google Search Console clicks and impressions with GA4 conversions and revenue
Search Console and GA4 revenue beside AI visibility

Where Orchly falls short

  • No HubSpot connection. Orchly has no HubSpot or Salesforce CRM connector, so prompt ideas don't come from your deal data, and the Content Agent can't publish to HubSpot CMS.
  • Add-on engines. ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews are included. Gemini, AI Mode, Claude, Grok and Copilot cost extra.

Orchly pricing

  • Essential: $49/month for 25 prompts, 20 articles, 1 site and 1 user
  • Pro: $125/month for 100 prompts, 50 articles, 3 sites and 5 users, with AI traffic analytics, custom agents and white-label reports
  • There's a 7-day free trial, and yearly billing saves 25%.

2. Peec AI: best for daily tracking with unlimited seats

Peec AI dashboard

Peec AI is a Berlin-based AI search analytics platform with unlimited users on every plan, and it suits HubSpot teams that want twice the prompts and a free choice of engines for a similar starting price.

We signed up and had data within a few minutes. Peec read our site, suggested prompts, and visibility, position and sentiment against competitors filled in for each engine.

Starter tracks 50 prompts for €85 a month, double HubSpot AEO's 25. You pick 3 models, and AI Overviews and AI Mode are on the list, which HubSpot doesn't cover. Claude, Grok and DeepSeek need Enterprise.

It has shipped a lot this year. Actions came in February, AI Shopping in June, and in September GA4 AI referrals and Brand Perception, which checks what AI says against facts you set. There's still no HubSpot connector, and the writing stays with your team.

Key features

  • Model choice. Any 3 of ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, AI Mode, AI Overviews and Naver AI, with Perplexity and other extra models from €25 a month.
  • Actions. Ranked owned and earned fixes drawn from your citation data.
  • Brand Perception. Attribute scores, objections and AI claims checked against your facts.
  • AI referrals. GA4 sessions and conversions tied to each AI assistant.
  • MCP and Looker Studio for getting the data into other tools.

Where it falls short

  • 3 models per plan unless you pay for more.
  • Claude, Grok and DeepSeek are Enterprise only.
  • No content writing, outreach or CRM connector.

User reviews

“It helps us find content gaps and the listicles and blog posts worth getting featured in, which tells us what to create next.” (Source)

“If Peec could read a company branding document and really understand us, I think the recommendations would get better.” (Source)

“It shows how AI models recommend your business and what they cite.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Starter: €85/month for 50 prompts and 3 models
  • Pro: €205/month for 150 prompts
  • Advanced: €425/month for 350 prompts, with multi-country tracking
  • Unlimited users on every plan, a free trial, and 15% off with yearly billing.

3. Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit: best if you already use Semrush for SEO

Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit dashboard

The Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit adds AI search tracking to the Semrush SEO suite for $99 a month per domain, and it suits HubSpot teams that already do their keyword research in Semrush. Adobe has owned Semrush since April 28, 2026.

We set it up on our own domain. You open AI in the left menu, enter the domain and get an AI Visibility Score out of 100.

Prompt Research was the report we kept going back to. It shows volume and intent for AI questions from a database of more than 317 million prompts, so you can see which questions matter before you spend your tracked prompts on them. HubSpot only suggests prompts.

The tracked allowance is the same as HubSpot's, 25 prompts per domain, and every extra user needs a license. The engines also change by report, which confused us at first. Prompt Tracking runs daily on ChatGPT Search, AI Overviews, AI Mode and Gemini, and Brand Performance updates weekly and adds Perplexity.

Key features

  • AI Visibility Score. One number out of 100 for any domain.
  • Prompt Research. Volume and intent for AI questions from 317 million+ prompts.
  • Brand Performance. Weekly share of voice, sentiment and citations, Perplexity included.
  • Prompt Tracking. Your own prompts checked daily.
  • MCP and a Claude connector, next to the SEO toolkit you already use.

Where it falls short

  • 25 prompts per domain, and each extra domain is another $99.
  • Every extra user needs their own license.
  • No Claude, Copilot or Grok on the self-serve toolkit.
  • It shows the gaps and leaves the writing and outreach to you.

User reviews

Most G2 reviews of Semrush are about the SEO tools. These are about the AI toolkit:

“The AI Visibility Score and the AI-readiness site audit make the data usable right next to our regular SEO reports.” (Source)

“We add and drop brands all the time for pitches and audits, so per-domain charges we can't remove ourselves are a dealbreaker.” (Source)

Pricing

  • AI Visibility Toolkit: $99/month per domain, billed yearly, for 25 prompts
  • Extra prompts: 50 more for $60/month
  • Semrush One: from $199/month, with 50 prompts and the SEO toolkit
  • The toolkit has no trial of its own. Semrush One has a 7-day free trial.

4. Otterly.AI: best budget tracker to start small

Otterly.AI dashboard

Otterly.AI is a low-cost AI search monitoring tool from Vienna with four engines and unlimited seats from $29 a month, and it's the cheapest way on this list to add Copilot and Google AI Overviews to what HubSpot AEO shows you.

Setup took us about 15 minutes. Otterly suggested competitors and prompts from our brand name, we kept most of them, and the first report followed.

The Brand Visibility Index was the chart we looked at most. It sorts brands into Leaders, Niche and Low Performance, which is an easy slide for a manager.

Lite is small, though. 15 prompts is fewer than HubSpot's 25, GEO recommendations stop at 3 a week, and the next plan is $189 for 100 prompts. AI Mode, Gemini and Claude are add-ons, so all 7 engines on Standard come to about $416 a month.

Key features

  • Four engines included. ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot, checked daily.
  • Brand Visibility Index. Sorts brands into Leaders, Niche or Low Performance.
  • Agent Analytics. AI crawler visits from your server logs, since August 2026.
  • ChatGPT shopping cards per prompt. Ads reporting has been paused since September 16, 2026.
  • Looker Studio connector, plus API and MCP from Standard.

Where it falls short

  • 15 prompts on Lite, and GEO recommendations capped at 3 a week.
  • AI Mode, Gemini and Claude are paid add-ons.
  • No content creation, outreach or CRM connector.

User reviews

“It picks out the right competitors accurately, so we track the benchmarks that matter.” (Source)

“The Lite tier doesn't have enough capacity for a growing workload, so it's hard to scale without moving to the pricier plan.” (Source)

“I'm excited to use the new Claude skill to slice our data further.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Lite: $29/month for 15 prompts
  • Standard: $189/month for 100 prompts
  • Premium: $489/month for 400 prompts
  • Yearly billing saves 15%, and the free trial needs no card.

5. SE Visible: best value for tracking several brands

SE Visible dashboard

SE Visible is SE Ranking's standalone AI visibility tracker, and its $99 Basic plan covers 200 prompts across 3 projects, eight times HubSpot AEO's 25, which suits teams with several brands or product lines.

We used the 10-day trial. Setup asks for a brand name, up to five topics, a country and a language. After the first scan it suggested competitors and other names for our brand, which saved some typing.

Prompts are pooled, so each one counts once however many engines it runs on, and data refreshes daily through real browser sessions. We liked reading every answer exactly as the engine gave it. If you run sub-brands, that's simpler than HubSpot's separate $50 instance per brand.

The plan cards list four engines, ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode and AI Overviews. Perplexity isn't among them, Claude is still marked coming soon, and Copilot is only on the roadmap.

Key features

  • Four engines. ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode and AI Overviews.
  • Pooled prompts. One allowance shared across projects and engines.
  • Daily refresh through real browser sessions.
  • Competitor Gap Analysis. Ranks the sources that cite competitors but not you, since July 2026.
  • Unlimited users and an API on every plan, with CSV and XLSX exports.

Where it falls short

  • No Perplexity, Claude, Copilot or Grok on current plans.
  • No PDF or white-label reports.
  • Tracks only. For SEO data you also need SE Ranking.

User reviews

SE Visible has no reviews on G2 or Capterra yet, so we have no user quotes to share.

Pricing

  • Basic: $99/month for 200 prompts and 3 projects
  • Core: $189/month for 450 prompts and 5 projects
  • Plus: $355/month for 1,000 prompts and 10 projects, by demo
  • Yearly billing saves 20%, and there's a 10-day free trial.

6. Profound: best for enterprise teams with a big budget

Profound dashboard

Profound is an enterprise AI visibility platform used by more than 1,000 brands, including a third of the Fortune 100, and it suits large HubSpot customers with an analyst and a budget for nine engines and content agents.

We tested it on the 7-day trial. Profound picked 50 prompts for our industry, we couldn't edit them, and only ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews ran. It showed us the product well, but not our own market.

Brands now buy through sales. Profound removed its $99 and $399 self-serve plans in September 2026, the same month it raised a $180M Series D at a $1.8B valuation. Shopping, exports, the API and the Claude connector are Enterprise only.

Where HubSpot AEO hands you a list of recommendations, Profound's AI Marketer runs agents that draft and publish content. Since October you can set one up by describing the job in plain words, and agent work draws on credit wallets.

Key features

  • Nine engines on Enterprise. ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Mode, Gemini, Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude, AI Overviews and Exa.
  • Prompt Volumes. Demand estimates from more than 1.5 billion prompts in 35 countries, updated weekly.
  • AI Marketer. Content agents with a Context Manager that learns your brand.
  • Agent Analytics. AI crawler activity on your site, plus Search Console data in Pages.
  • Shopping. How your products show up in ChatGPT shopping answers, on Enterprise.

Where it falls short

  • No self-serve plan for brands, so pricing goes through sales.
  • The trial runs preset prompts on three engines.
  • No Grok since Exa replaced it in September 2026.
  • No native HubSpot connector. Data moves through the Enterprise API.

User reviews

“We set up agents that build the structured data AI models prefer, and keep our clients' traffic-driving content up to date.” (Source)

“For content refreshes I can pick any model, even the newest ones.” (Source)

“The reporting takes getting used to, and with so much data it's not always obvious where to start.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Brands: custom Enterprise pricing through sales
  • Agencies: a separate self-serve Agency Growth plan
  • Trial: 7 days free, with 50 preset prompts on ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews

7. AthenaHQ: best for broad engine coverage on one plan

AthenaHQ dashboard

AthenaHQ is a Y Combinator-backed AI search platform with a free plan on five engines and 11 engines on its $295 Starter plan, so it suits teams that care more about engine coverage than prompt count. AthenaHQ sent us to a sales call before we could get in, so this section comes from its docs, release notes and G2 reviews.

Going by the docs, setup is quick. You enter your domain, AthenaHQ builds a brand profile, suggests about 10 competitors and 10 prompts, and answers arrive within minutes.

It runs on credits, and one credit is one AI response. Starter's 3,600 credits go fast when each prompt runs on 11 engines, and tracked daily that covers only about 10 prompts.

Unlike HubSpot AEO in Marketing Hub, nothing here reads your CRM. The integrations AthenaHQ names include GA4, Search Console and Shopify, not HubSpot.

Key features

  • Free Essentials plan. 300 credits on ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, Gemini and Copilot.
  • 11 engines on Starter, including AI Mode, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral.
  • Sources and Brand Traits. Cited domains split into yours, competitors' and third parties', plus the words AI uses about you.
  • Shopping Pages. Catalog page templates with a Shopify sync, since August 2026.
  • Unlimited seats on every plan.

Where it falls short

  • Nothing between the free plan and $295 a month.
  • Personas, the recommendation engine, the Athena Citation Engine, BI exports and SSO are Enterprise only.
  • Self-serve plans cover one country.

User reviews

“It tells us which conditions and treatments we're cited for, and flags where a competitor's content gets the mention instead.” (Source)

“We can split visibility by metro area and give each regional team data it can act on.” (Source)

“A short tooltip or a glossary would have saved me a support email and about 45 minutes of confusion.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Essentials: free, with 300 credits on 5 engines
  • Starter: $295/month, about $245 billed yearly, for 3,600 credits on 11 engines
  • Enterprise: custom

8. Scrunch: best for persona-based tracking in B2B

Scrunch dashboard

Scrunch is an AI visibility platform for mid-market and enterprise B2B teams that segments answers by persona and topic and shows how AI crawlers read your site. Sitecore has owned it since June 2026.

We used the 7-day trial. Onboarding is guided. Scrunch drafted a brand description from our site, we confirmed it, added competitors, a persona and our topics, and started from five suggested prompts.

Personas are why B2B teams look at it, but Core includes 1 persona, 1 country and 1 language. Core costs $250 a month for 125 prompts on ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews and Copilot, with 5 user licenses and 5 site audits a month. Claude, Gemini, AI Mode, Meta AI and Grok need an Enterprise contract.

What we noticed over time was the refresh cycle. New prompts run daily for 14 days and then every 72 hours, while HubSpot runs its 25 every day.

Key features

  • Core engines. ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews and Copilot, with 5,000 responses a month.
  • Persona and topic filters for reading answers by buyer.
  • Agent Traffic. AI crawler visits by page, once you connect your CDN or host.
  • Site audits. 5 a month on Core, plus GA4 AI referrals, improved in October 2026.
  • Agent Experience Platform (AXP). Serves AI agents a version of your pages built for them, on Enterprise.

Where it falls short

  • 1 persona, 1 country and 1 language on Core.
  • Claude, Gemini and AI Mode are Enterprise only.
  • Prompts drop to a 72-hour cycle after the first two weeks.
  • No outreach or content writing.

User reviews

“When our work pays off, I can show clients how their brand presence grew over time.” (Source)

“The Trends section is a great addition, but I've had trouble getting my topic requests approved, so I can't see the trends that matter to our business.” (Source)

“Clean, easy to understand, and they keep shipping updates.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Core: $250/month for 125 prompts on 4 engines, 5 user licenses and 5 site audits
  • Enterprise: custom, with 9 engines, custom prompts, AXP, API and SSO
  • 7-day free trial on Core.

9. Promptwatch: best for crawler logs plus content

Promptwatch dashboard

Promptwatch is an AI search visibility platform that combines prompt tracking from $95 a month with AI crawler logs and content writing from $245, and it suits technical marketers who want to know whether AI bots actually read their pages.

We signed up for the 7-day trial. You enter your URL, pick 5 prompts, and it collects answers from the chatbots' own interfaces rather than through APIs.

Every plan includes all of its models, Claude, Copilot, Meta AI and DeepSeek among them, so on engines it covers far more than HubSpot. The limit is the response allowance. Essential's 6,000 responses a month won't run 50 prompts on every model every day, so in practice we picked models or checked less often.

Content writing and crawler logs start on Professional at $245. Shopping Insights come with the $579 Business plan, sold by demo.

Key features

  • All models on every plan. ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Claude, Gemini, Meta AI, DeepSeek and Copilot.
  • Citations analysis. Which of your pages and which third-party sources get pulled into answers.
  • Content writing and refresh, grounded in a knowledge base, from Professional.
  • Agent Analytics. AI crawler visits through log integrations, from Professional.
  • MCP and API, plus Search Console, WordPress, Webflow and Slack integrations.

Where it falls short

  • 6,000 responses on Essential limit how many models you can run daily.
  • No Grok, no outreach and no HubSpot connector.
  • Shopping Insights start at $579 a month.

User reviews

“The content coverage report shows where competitors get cited and we don't, so our content team gets a prioritised to-do list instead of a vague push to do more AEO.” (Source)

“You still can't see when your brand shows up in organic search results.” (Source)

“Compared with other tools, it has the cleanest and most intuitive interface.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Essential: $95/month for 50 prompts and 6,000 responses
  • Professional: $245/month for 150 prompts, 18,000 responses, content writing and Agent Analytics
  • Business: $579/month for 350 prompts, 42,000 responses and Shopping Insights, by demo
  • Essential and Professional come with a 7-day free trial.

10. Writesonic: best if you want content and tracking together

Writesonic dashboard

Writesonic is an AI writing and GEO platform that bundles AI search tracking with article writing and WordPress publishing, which makes it the closest thing outside HubSpot to AEO's idea of spotting a gap and drafting the fix.

Setup took us a few minutes. You pick topics, check the suggested prompts and choose competitors, and citation share against competitors comes in daily.

The writing is the reason to pick it. Plans include 15, 25 or 50 AI articles a month, where HubSpot charges 1,000 credits for each generated post, and the Action Center re-measures each fix after 14 and 28 days.

The engine list held us back. Every self-serve plan tracks only ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews, so Perplexity, which HubSpot does cover, needs Enterprise, along with Claude, Grok, Copilot and AI Mode.

Key features

  • Tracking plus writing. 15, 25 or 50 AI articles a month, published to WordPress.
  • Daily tracking with citation share and cited pages.
  • Action Center. Fixes re-measured at day 14 and day 28, in full on Enterprise.
  • Reddit and Search Console as data sources.
  • MCP server and Project Hub, both added in June 2026.

Where it falls short

  • Self-serve plans track only ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews.
  • Starter is billed yearly and has 1 user, and sentiment starts on the $399 Growth plan.
  • Drafts still need editing before they go live.

User reviews

“It's one thing to guess you're behind and another to see the gap measured across dozens of queries.” (Source)

“Watching citations and mentions change after our schema or HTML fixes is a big help.” (Source)

“It tells me I have an action item, then says there's nothing to optimize when I check.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Starter: $79/month billed yearly, for 50 prompts and 1 user
  • Basic: $199/month for 100 prompts and 2 users
  • Growth: $399/month for 200 prompts, 3 users and sentiment
  • You can start free without a card.

11. LLMrefs: best low-cost option for many engines

LLMrefs dashboard

LLMrefs is a keyword-based AI rank tracker that covers 11 engines and up to 500 prompts on one $79 plan, which suits tight budgets that want Claude, Copilot and Grok without add-on fees. We haven't run LLMrefs ourselves, so this section is based on its pricing page and docs.

It starts from keywords, not prompts. You add the keywords you already track for SEO, LLMrefs writes the conversational prompts behind each one, and results roll up per keyword with search volume next to them.

500 prompts is twenty times HubSpot AEO's standalone allowance. The trade-offs are less control over the exact questions and weekly reports, where HubSpot updates daily.

Key features

  • 10 engines, no add-ons. ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Grok, Copilot, Meta AI and DeepSeek.
  • Keyword tracking. Up to 500 prompts generated from your keywords, with search volume.
  • Share of voice and position for each brand, per keyword.
  • Unlimited projects and team members, with CSV export.

Where it falls short

  • Weekly updates, with no daily option.
  • Prompts come from keywords, so you can't fully control them.
  • No sentiment, content or outreach, and the $79 price is labelled limited time.

User reviews

LLMrefs has no reviews on G2 or Capterra yet, and its one Product Hunt review is a short note of praise, so we have no user quotes to share.

Pricing

  • All in One: $79/month for 500 prompts and every engine
  • 7-day free trial, with unlimited team members and projects.

What changed with HubSpot AEO in 2026

HubSpot AEO has changed a lot since launch, but the limits most teams run into have not. Here's what we could confirm from HubSpot's own pages and release notes.

  • XFunnel went inside HubSpot. HubSpot agreed to buy XFunnel, a 10-month-old Israeli AEO startup, on October 31, 2025, and said it would be built into its marketing products. Today xfunnel.ai still carries the acquisition note and offers only a sign-up form for updates, with no plans to buy. XFunnel's dedicated analysts and experimentation platform aren't part of HubSpot AEO's feature list. We covered the old tool in our XFunnel alternatives guide.
  • It launched in April and is still Beta. HubSpot AEO went on sale on April 14, 2026 at $50 a month, with no HubSpot subscription needed. In November 2026 it's still labeled Beta.
  • Citations got more detail in August. The Citations tab was rebuilt with content type and brand-mentioned columns and a URL search, per Lupo Digital's August roundup.
  • Recommendations now come with a number. Each one shows a projected citation lift, a priority and an assignee, and they're split into owned content, social amplification (Reddit threads, LinkedIn and YouTube), outreach and a new site audit for content and technical issues, according to HubSpot's knowledge base.
  • Blog drafts cost credits, and only in Marketing Hub. Generating a blog post from a recommendation, and CRM-based prompt suggestions, are Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise features. The content agent uses 1,000 HubSpot Credits per piece.
  • Claude can read your AEO data. Since September 2026 HubSpot's Claude connector can pull AEO performance, again on Marketing Hub Professional or Enterprise.
  • The limits stayed put. Still three engines (ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity), still 25 daily prompts on the standalone plan and Marketing Hub Professional, 50 on Enterprise, and extra prompts still come as an "AEO Answers Limit Increase" with no price on HubSpot's pages.

What HubSpot AEO does well (and when to stay)

HubSpot AEO is a sensible first tool, and for some teams it's enough. It does a few things none of the alternatives above do.

  • CRM-based prompts. In Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise, suggested prompts come from your business context and CRM data. An AI Advisors comparison lists no public CRM connector for Scrunch, Otterly.AI, Profound, Peec AI or AthenaHQ.
  • Drafts where you publish. Marketing Hub users can turn an owned-content recommendation into a blog draft in their brand voice, in HubSpot CMS or copied out to another blog.
  • Citation lift and site audits. You can sort fixes by projected lift and track a page's citations after you change it.
  • Already paid for. Marketing Hub Professional includes 25 prompts and Enterprise 50, at no extra cost.
  • A long trial. 28 days with no card, and your data carries over if you pay.

What HubSpot AEO users say

HubSpot AEO has a 4.4/5 rating from 148 reviews on G2.

“Before, we only saw this in our agencies' reports. Now I can keep a much closer eye on how AI platforms represent us myself.” (Source)

“Credits sometimes go faster than expected, and the bot has created the same piece of content twice, so it used credits twice.” (Source)

“I do wish it covered more models than the three it supports today.” (Source)

Stay if you track a handful of core prompts, publish on HubSpot CMS and mostly need a score for leadership. Move on when you need Google's AI answers, Claude or Copilot, more than 50 prompts, or agents that do the writing and outreach. As HubSpot partner agency Impulse Creative put it, the tool "cannot tell you whether you are measuring the right prompts."

Which HubSpot AEO alternative should you choose?

  • You want agents that run the work on their own, from analysis to content, outreach and site fixes, across more engines: Orchly.
  • You want more prompts and your pick of engines with unlimited seats: Peec AI.
  • You already run SEO in Semrush: Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit.
  • You want the cheapest way to add Copilot and AI Overviews: Otterly.AI.
  • You track several brands on a small budget: SE Visible.
  • You have an enterprise budget and an analyst: Profound.
  • You care most about engine coverage, or want to stay free: AthenaHQ.
  • You sell to several B2B personas: Scrunch.
  • You want AI crawler logs next to content writing: Promptwatch.
  • You want articles in the plan and publish on WordPress: Writesonic.
  • You want 11 engines for $79 and can live with weekly data: LLMrefs.

Whichever you pick, judge it on the trend over a few weeks, not one day's reading, since AI answers change daily.
