11 Best AI SEO Tools for SaaS (2026)

The best AI SEO tools for SaaS in November 2026 are Orchly, Semrush, Ahrefs and SE Ranking, with Surfer, Clearscope, AirOps, Frase, Search Atlas, Byword and MarketMuse for narrower content and technical jobs. We judged all 11 on how well they handle "best X", comparison and alternatives keyword research, content briefs and refreshes, Search Console and GA4 data, technical audits, AI search visibility tracking and real cost for a SaaS team.

A SaaS SEO stack now has to cover both Google and AI answers. In G2's March 2026 survey, 51% of B2B software buyers said they start research with an AI chatbot more often than with Google, and the rest still type "best X software" and "X vs Y" into Google. Prices checked in November 2026.

Editor's note

How we judged these SEO tools for SaaS

We've run the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit and SE Visible, SE Ranking's AI tracker, on their trials with software buyer prompts like "best X software" and "X vs Y". For every tool on this list we went back to the pricing page and docs and noted:

  • How well it covers "best X", comparison and alternatives keywords, briefs and refreshes
  • Whether it uses Search Console and GA4, and audits the site
  • Which AI engines it tracks on the plan you'd buy, and the real monthly cost

We haven't used the Semrush and SE Ranking SEO suites, Ahrefs, Surfer, Clearscope, AirOps, Frase, Search Atlas, Byword or MarketMuse for this list, so those parts come from their docs, pricing pages and reviews. Review quotes are condensed from G2, Capterra, Trustpilot and Product Hunt and link to the original.

Orchly is our product. We held it to the same checks and say where it falls short. Checked November 2026.

How we picked

We looked at each tool the way a SaaS SEO and content team would use it week to week:

  • Bottom-of-funnel research. Does it find "best X software", "X vs Y", "alternatives to X", pricing and integration keywords, not just blog topics?
  • Briefs, drafts and refreshes. Can it brief or draft comparison and alternatives pages, and spot older posts that are losing clicks?
  • Search Console and GA4. Does it use your own Google data to pick what to fix, and show which pages bring signups?
  • Technical health. Does it audit the site, including docs and app subdomains, and help you get the fixes done?
  • AI visibility on top. Which AI engines it tracks, on which plan, and how many prompts you get.
  • Real cost. The price of the plan that actually does the job, with add-ons and seats.
Orchly organic traffic dashboard combining Search Console clicks and GA4 conversions and revenue
Search Console and GA4 conversions in one view

Orchly is an agentic AI search optimization platform that connects your Search Console and GA4 data, tracks the "best X software", "X vs Y" and "alternatives to X" prompts your buyers ask every day in the real ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews interfaces, and runs agents that do the SEO and content work on their own. Gemini, Google AI Mode, Claude, Grok and Microsoft Copilot are paid add-ons, and it also tracks Meta AI and DeepSeek.

Its agents run on a schedule. They analyze your rankings, clicks and conversions, your AI visibility and your competitors, then decide which comparison pages to write and which decaying posts to refresh, and write them in your brand voice. They keep Brand Brain, your product facts and positioning, up to date, find the sites and people worth pitching for backlinks and citations and run the outreach, spot Reddit threads worth joining with draft replies, and audit your site for technical SEO and AI search issues with the fixes ranked. You decide whether each agent runs on its own or waits for your approval.

Most tools on this list give you research and a to-do list. Orchly's agents run the work end to end, from $49 a month.

Find the searches and prompts that lead to a trial

  • Search Console and GA4. Clicks, impressions, conversions and revenue by page, keyword, country and device, with keywords grouped into topic clusters.
  • SEO research by agents. Keyword research, keyword gaps, backlink data and SERP snapshots, powered by DataForSEO.
Orchly prompt and topic analytics with branded and non-branded prompts and commercial, informational and transactional intent labels
Buyer prompts by topic, branded vs non-branded and intent
  • Buyer prompts by intent. Every AI prompt is tagged branded or non-branded and commercial, informational or transactional, so "best onboarding software for startups" sits apart from "how does [your brand] pricing work".

Turn decaying pages into refresh tasks

  • Content Agent. Reads your Search Console data, spots pages losing clicks and prompts you're losing in AI answers, and turns them into article and refresh tasks.
  • Drafts in your brand voice. Comparison pages, alternatives pages and refreshes written from Brand Brain, then published to WordPress, Webflow, Framer, Ghost or Sanity, directly or after your approval.

Content tasks from decaying pages and lost prompts

Keep your pricing and positioning straight

  • Perception. The attributes AI ties to your product and the objections it raises, like "expensive" or "limited integrations".
  • Fact check. AI answers often get SaaS pricing and plan limits wrong. Orchly checks each answer against Brand Brain and flags claims that contradict it.

Get onto the listicles and review pages AI cites

  • Mention Gap. Software answers lean on review sites and "best tools" listicles. Mention Gap lists the cited pages that name your competitors but skip you.
  • Activation Agent. Finds those pages plus backlink opportunities, drafts the pitches and sends them from your own Google Workspace, Zoho or SMTP inbox. More on our outreach agent.

Outreach to the pages AI and Google cite

Fix the site and measure the result

  • Site Health Agent. Audits your pages for technical SEO and AI search issues, ranks them by priority and proposes the exact fix for each one.
  • AI traffic analytics. On Pro, see AI crawler visits and real visitors from ChatGPT, Perplexity and other assistants by page, next to your GA4 conversions. See how this fits a SaaS marketing team on our SaaS solution page.

Where Orchly falls short

  • Smaller keyword and backlink database. If your team lives in keyword research and backlink audits all day, Semrush or Ahrefs have far more data.
  • No live term editor. There's no real-time term scoring in the editor like Surfer or Clearscope.
  • No CRM connector. You'll see GA4 conversions, but not which HubSpot or Salesforce deals came from search.

Orchly pricing

  • Essential: $49/month for 25 prompts refreshed daily, 20 created or refreshed articles, 1 site and 1 user
  • Pro: $125/month for 100 prompts, 50 articles, 3 sites and 5 users, with AI traffic analytics and white-label reports
  • Enterprise: custom, with unlimited prompts and users
  • There's a 7-day free trial, and yearly billing saves 25%.

2. Semrush: best all-in-one suite for SaaS keyword and competitor research

Semrush dashboard

Semrush is an all-in-one SEO suite for keyword research, competitor research, backlinks, site audits and position tracking, with AI search tracking built into its Semrush One plans, which suits SaaS teams that want "best X", "vs" and "alternatives" keyword data and AI visibility in one login.

We used Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit on its trial for our other reviews. The SEO side here comes from Semrush's pricing page and help center.

For SaaS work, the competitor reports earn their price. You can open a rival's domain, see which comparison and alternatives pages bring them traffic, and use Keyword Gap and Backlink Gap to build a backlog of pages you don't have yet.

On the AI side, Prompt Research was the report we kept going back to. It works like keyword research for AI questions, built on a database of more than 317 million prompts. The entry toolkit's 25 prompts per domain felt tight for a software category with a dozen competitors, though.

Prompt Tracking runs your prompts daily on ChatGPT Search, AI Mode, AI Overviews and Gemini, and Semrush says the answers come from real requests, not APIs. Since April 28, 2026, Semrush has been "an Adobe company".

Key features

  • Keyword Magic Tool and Keyword Gap. Category, comparison and integration keywords, and the ones competitors rank for that you don't.
  • Site Audit. Technical SEO checks, plus AI search checks such as AI crawlers blocked in robots.txt.
  • Position Tracking. 500 keywords tracked daily on the SEO and Starter plans.
  • AI Visibility. Prompt Research, daily Prompt Tracking and weekly Brand Performance with Perplexity.
  • SEO Writing Assistant. Scores drafts in Google Docs and WordPress, with content optimization on Pro+.
  • Google Analytics and Search Console integrations on paid plans.

Where it falls short

  • A set daily prompt allowance (50 prompts) starts on the $199 Starter plan, and extra users cost from $45 a month each.
  • It finds the gaps, but your team still briefs, writes and publishes the pages.
  • The Writing Assistant allows 2 documents per account on Starter, per Semrush's help center.
  • Claude, Grok and Copilot are only in Semrush's Enterprise AIO product.

User reviews

“Keyword Magic makes long-tail opportunities easy to find, and Site Audit flags technical issues before they hurt rankings. The entry plan feels pricey for solo users, and it takes time to learn how the reports fit together.” (Source)

“I use it to find content gaps, track ranking shifts and see why competitors are gaining traction.” (Source)

“The AI toolkit is priced per domain, which adds up fast for multi-site brands.” (Source)

Pricing

  • SEO: $139/month, or $117.33 billed yearly, for 5 websites and 500 daily keywords
  • Starter (SEO + AI search): $199/month, or $165.17 billed yearly, with 50 AI prompts tracked daily
  • Pro+: $299/month, or $248.17 billed yearly, with 100 prompts and content optimization
  • Advanced is custom. There's a free plan with 10 reports a day and a 7-day trial on paid plans. The standalone AI Visibility Toolkit is $99/month per domain, billed yearly, for 25 prompts.
Ahrefs dashboard

Ahrefs is an SEO suite known for its backlink index, Site Explorer and Keywords Explorer, with Brand Radar as a paid add-on for AI search, which suits SaaS teams that study competitors' links and top pages before they plan comparison content. We haven't tested Ahrefs for this list, so this section is based on its pricing page, help docs and G2 reviews.

Plug a competitor into Site Explorer and Top Pages shows which of their pages pull search traffic, often their alternatives, integration and template pages. The backlink report then shows who links to those pages, which gives you an outreach list.

Ahrefs is also a useful data point for why SaaS teams care about AI search. It reported that AI search sent 0.5% of its visitors but 12.1% of its signups over 30 days in mid-2025.

Brand Radar works differently from the trackers on this list. It runs a modeled index of more than 496 million prompts built from search data, so for your exact "Brand A vs Brand B" questions you add custom prompts. Claude is only available in custom prompts, and Grok tracking is paused.

Key features

  • Site Explorer and Top Pages. Competitor traffic by page, and the links behind it.
  • Keywords Explorer. Volumes, difficulty and SERP history for category and comparison keywords.
  • Rank Tracker and Site Audit on Lite and above.
  • Search Console data. GSC Insights adds keyword estimates and longer history to your own Search Console data.
  • Brand Radar. AI mentions and cited pages in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, AI Overviews and AI Mode, with 5, 10 or 20 daily custom prompts on Lite, Standard and Advanced.
  • Content Kit add-on. AI Content Helper and AI Content Grader, from $99 a month.

Where it falls short

  • Add-ons stack up: Brand Radar from $199 per platform and Content Kit from $99, on top of a $129 to $449 plan.
  • The prompt index is modeled from search data, not your own buyer prompts.
  • No AI writer that drafts or publishes pages for you.

User reviews

We've quoted most saved Ahrefs reviews in other comparisons, so here are two that fit a lean SaaS team.

“The free plan covers up to 5 of my sites with a weekly audit report. What I miss is keyword suggestions for improving a post, which Semrush gives you and Ahrefs doesn't.” (Source)

“Many of the features I want cost extra, so I only pay for them short-term when I need them.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Starter: $29/month for keyword and competitor research
  • Lite: $129/month, adding Rank Tracker and Site Audit
  • Standard: $249/month, and Advanced $449/month
  • Brand Radar: $199/month per AI platform, or $699/month for all six. Paying yearly saves up to 17%. There's no free trial, but Ahrefs Free gives limited Site Explorer and Site Audit data for your own site.

4. SE Ranking: best value SEO suite for rank tracking

SE Ranking dashboard

SE Ranking is a mid-priced SEO suite for rank tracking, site audits, keyword research, backlinks and content, with daily AI prompt tracking on its main plans and a separate AI visibility product called SE Visible, which suits seed to Series B SaaS teams that want real SEO data without a Semrush-sized bill.

We used SE Visible, SE Ranking's standalone AI visibility tool, on its trial. The SE Ranking suite itself we know from its pricing page and Trustpilot reviews.

SE Visible was quick to set up. Prompts are pooled across your brands, results refresh daily on ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode and AI Overviews, and exports come as CSV or XLSX. We missed a PDF report to share with a CEO, and Claude is still marked as coming soon.

Inside the suite, Core covers the SEO basics a SaaS site needs: 2,000 keywords tracked daily, audits of up to 250,000 pages a month, competitor and backlink research, and 100 AI prompts tracked daily. Search Console and GA4 connect on every plan, and the MCP server lets you pull the data into Claude or another assistant.

Key features

  • Rank Tracker. 2,000 keywords daily on Core, by location and device.
  • Website Audit. Technical issues across up to 250,000 pages a month on Core.
  • Competitor and backlink research. Unlimited on paid plans.
  • AI Search add-on. AI Results Tracker for AI Overviews, AI Mode and ChatGPT, with SE Visible included, from $89 a month.
  • Integrations. Search Console, GA4, Looker Studio, API credits and a remote MCP server.

Where it falls short

  • Core includes one manager seat, so a content and SEO team may need Growth.
  • The content tools are a small part of the suite, with no agent that drafts and publishes comparison pages.
  • SEO and deeper AI tracking live in two products, and Claude, Grok and Copilot aren't tracked yet.

User reviews

“It's useful for daily SEO work, with rankings, site performance and progress in one place, though some features take time to learn.” (Source)

“After 15 years in SEO it's my main platform now. Pulling its keyword data into Claude through MCP saves me hours on keyword and competitor research.” (Source)

“The system was down for over a week after a Google update, so we couldn't send client reports, and they refused a credit.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Core: $129/month, or $103.20 billed yearly, for 2,000 keywords and 100 daily AI prompts
  • Growth: $279/month, or $223.20 billed yearly, for 5,000 keywords and 250 prompts
  • AI Search add-on: from $89/month for 200 prompts, including SE Visible
  • There's a 14-day free trial. SE Visible on its own starts at $99/month for 200 prompts.

5. Surfer: best for on-page content optimization

Surfer dashboard

Surfer is a content optimization platform whose Content Editor scores drafts for Google and AI search as you write, with an AI Tracker on its higher plans, which suits SaaS content teams that brief freelancers and want every page to hit a target before it ships. We haven't used Surfer ourselves, so this section draws on its pricing page, help docs, changelog and Trustpilot reviews.

Positive Group bought Surfer in October 2025, and the app now runs at surfer.ai. Since May 4, 2026 the Content Score shows SEO and AI search side by side, and Auto-Optimize moves on to AI search once the SEO side is covered.

The refresh side matters more for an older SaaS blog. Connect Search Console and Content Audit combines your positions, clicks and CTR with Content Scores, then suggests which pages to re-optimize, with daily alerts when a page slips.

AI tracking depends on the plan. Standard checks 25 prompts once a week, and only in ChatGPT. Pro checks 50 prompts daily across ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Mode, AI Overviews and Gemini. Claude, Grok and Copilot aren't tracked.

Key features

  • Content Editor. Terms, headings and length from the pages that rank, in Surfer, Google Docs or WordPress.
  • AI SEO Content Score. SEO and AI search guidance in one score, with Auto-Optimize.
  • Content Audit. Search Console data plus Content Scores, with refresh suggestions and rank drop alerts.
  • AI Tracker. 25 weekly ChatGPT prompts on Standard, 50 daily prompts on five engines on Pro.
  • Surfer MCP server on Pro and above, out of beta since October 5, 2026.

Where it falls short

  • No backlink data or rank tracker, so you still need an SEO suite.
  • Useful AI tracking starts on Pro at $182 a month billed yearly.
  • Chasing the score can push writers to copy what competitors already say.

User reviews

“It tells you what you need to rank, the built-in AI writes articles with images, and you can search keyword clusters to target what your audience wants.” (Source)

“Good results, and they show up fast.” (Source)

“Our plan went from €66 to over €230. Analyses failed or didn't load, and the tool pushed content that copies competitors.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Discovery: $49/month billed yearly ($59 monthly), with no AI tracking
  • Standard: $99/month billed yearly ($119 monthly), with 25 weekly ChatGPT prompts
  • Pro: $182/month billed yearly ($219 monthly), with 50 daily prompts on five engines
  • AI Search Analytics alone is $82/month billed yearly for 50 daily prompts. The 7-day Pro trial needs a card and doesn't cancel itself.

6. Clearscope: best content grading for editorial SaaS teams

Clearscope dashboard

Clearscope is a content grading tool that scores drafts from F to A++ inside Google Docs and WordPress, with unlimited users and tracked queries in AI answers, which suits editorial SaaS teams that hand briefs to many writers and refresh a large back catalog. We haven't used Clearscope ourselves, so this section is based on its pricing page, product pages and Capterra reviews.

The appeal is how little there is to learn. A writer opens the report link, writes in Google Docs and watches the grade climb, and you don't pay per seat.

For refreshes, Content Inventory connects to Search Console and shows grades and clicks for live pages, with striking-distance and content decay views. That's a quick way to find the comparison posts slipping off page one.

On AI search, Clearscope's product pages list ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude for tracked queries, although its pricing page still names only ChatGPT and Gemini. Essentials includes 50 tracked queries.

Key features

  • Content grades. F to A++ against the terms and topics the top results cover.
  • Google Docs add-on and WordPress plugin. The grade shows up where writers already work.
  • Content Inventory. Search Console data with grades, decay and striking-distance views.
  • Tracked Queries. Brand mentions in AI answers over time, with query fan-outs.
  • Unlimited users and projects on every plan.

Where it falls short

  • 20 drafts a month on both paid plans, with extra drafts sold in packs of 10.
  • No Perplexity, AI Overviews or AI Mode tracking.
  • No keyword database, backlink data or technical audit.

User reviews

We've already quoted every Clearscope review we could find in other comparisons, so these two are repeats, picked for SaaS teams with older content.

“We use it to optimize historical content as well as new posts, and we saw a 50% increase in under two months.” (Source)

“Writers who don't know SEO can optimize content quickly. It could be a bit faster when loading.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Essentials: $129/month for 50 tracked queries, 50 pages, 20 Discoveries and 20 Drafts
  • Business: $399/month for 300 tracked queries, 300 pages and 50 Discoveries, with an account manager
  • Enterprise: custom, with SSO
  • There's a 14-day free trial and no contract.

7. AirOps: best for content refresh workflows at scale

AirOps dashboard

AirOps is a content engineering platform where you build workflows and agents that research, brief, write, refresh and publish content, with AI visibility insights on its Pro plan, which suits SaaS teams with a large back catalog and someone who enjoys building workflows. We haven't used AirOps ourselves, so this section draws on its pricing page, docs and G2 reviews.

Its pricing page shows logos from SaaS companies such as Ramp, Webflow, Wiz, Gong, Carta and Brex. The typical use is a refresh workflow you run across hundreds of posts, fed by brand kits and knowledge bases so output stays close to your voice and product facts.

Agents pause and send work to an Inbox for review, and Offsite suggests third-party placements for your team to approve. Research comes through integrations with Semrush, Ahrefs, Moz and DataForSEO, and finished pages publish to Webflow, WordPress, Sanity, Framer, Contentful and other CMSs.

There are no prices on the page. Solo covers ChatGPT insights only, and Pro adds 7+ answer engines and unlimited seats.

Key features

  • Workflows and agents. Research, briefs, drafts and refreshes you can run in bulk.
  • Brand kits and knowledge bases. 1 brand kit and 3 or 5 knowledge bases on Solo and Pro.
  • AI visibility insights. ChatGPT on Solo, 7+ answer engines on Pro, with onsite, offsite, social and community sources.
  • CMS publishing to Webflow, WordPress, Sanity, Framer, Contentful, HubSpot and more.
  • MCP connectors and API.

Where it falls short

  • No published prices, and usage is billed in tasks.
  • Workflows take time to learn before a team gets real value.
  • It relies on your Semrush or Ahrefs account for keyword and link data.

User reviews

Most AirOps reviews on G2 have appeared in our other comparisons, so we quoted parts we hadn't used before.

“We build workflows from scratch for each client or task, and brand kits keep everything on brand.” (Source)

“It scouts and handles backlinking well. We're still in the pilot, so pricing and ROI are still to be proven for us.” (Source)

“New features arrive so quickly that I have to set time aside to catch up, though the updates have been helpful.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Solo: price on request, 35,000 tasks, 1 user, ChatGPT insights only
  • Pro: price on request, 100,000 tasks, unlimited seats, 7+ answer engines
  • Enterprise: custom tasks, agents and onboarding
  • The page offers a free start. Extra Solo tasks cost $0.025 each.

8. Frase: best budget tool from research to publish

Frase dashboard

Frase is a content research and optimization platform that runs one AI agent across research, briefs, writing, publishing and decay fixes, with AI visibility tracking from $39 a month billed yearly, which suits small SaaS teams that want the whole content loop in one affordable plan. We haven't used Frase ourselves, so this section is based on its pricing page, changelog and Trustpilot reviews.

Frase rebuilt the product in early 2026. You ask the agent for what you want in plain language, and it researches the top results, drafts, scores the page for SEO and AI search and can publish it.

For a SaaS blog, Content Guard is the part to look at. It watches 10 to 300 live pages, depending on plan, and proposes fixes when they start to decay. Frase also added GA4 AI referral data and a backlink prospect finder in September 2026.

Tracking is lighter than on a dedicated tracker. Starter checks 20 prompts on ChatGPT and Google AI, Perplexity arrives on Professional, and Claude and Gemini need the $239 Scale plan.

Key features

  • Frase agent. Research, briefs, drafts and optimization from plain-language requests.
  • SEO and GEO scores for every draft.
  • Content Guard. Decay monitoring on 10, 75 or 300 pages.
  • Site audit. 50, 250 or 1,000 audited pages a month.
  • AI Visibility. 20, 50 or 75 tracked prompts, rebuilt in October 2026.
  • API, MCP server and an official ChatGPT app.

Where it falls short

  • Starter tracks only ChatGPT and Google AI.
  • No backlink index or deep competitor keyword data.
  • Lifetime-deal customers were moved to a legacy app, and some say this broke the deal.

User reviews

We've quoted most recent Frase reviews in other comparisons, so there are two here.

“Frase Answers finds patterns in our inbound conversations that feed the blog, which helps our search and LLM visibility.” (Source)

“Lifetime customers who backed them from the start were effectively abandoned, with only an apology.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Starter: $39/month billed yearly ($49 monthly) for 10 articles and 20 prompts
  • Professional: $103/month billed yearly ($129 monthly) for 40 articles and 50 prompts, adding Perplexity
  • Scale: $239/month billed yearly ($299 monthly) for 100 articles and 75 prompts, adding Claude and Gemini
  • Every plan has a 7-day free trial with no card. Enterprise is custom.

9. Search Atlas: best for automated technical SEO fixes

Search Atlas dashboard

Search Atlas is an all-in-one SEO platform whose OTTO agent deploys on-page and technical fixes to your live site through a script, with keyword tracking, AI content and LLM visibility in the same plans, which suits lean SaaS teams without engineering time for technical SEO. We haven't used Search Atlas ourselves, so this section draws on its pricing page, release news and Capterra reviews.

Most audit tools hand you a list. OTTO makes the change, such as titles, meta descriptions or schema, either on autopilot or in an approval mode where you sign off on each edit.

That's helpful when engineering owns the marketing site and SEO tickets sit in the backlog. Some SaaS teams won't want a script editing pages outside their CMS and code review, though.

Everything draws from one pool of Universal Credits, from audits and rank checks to AI articles. AI visibility starts on Growth at $199 with ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Mode, and Pro at $399 adds Copilot, Perplexity and Claude.

Key features

  • OTTO SEO. Technical and on-page fixes deployed to 1 to 10 sites, depending on plan.
  • Site audit and keyword tracking. 2,000 to 50,000 tracked keywords by plan.
  • Content Genius. AI articles and edits, at version 5 since September 2026.
  • LLM Visibility. 100 queries on Growth and Pro, 250 on Agency.
  • Atlas Agent. An AI assistant across the platform, on every plan.

Where it falls short

  • No AI visibility on the $99 Starter plan.
  • Automated edits to a live site won't pass many code review processes.
  • One credit pool for everything makes costs hard to predict.

User reviews

“We went from five tools to one, though there's a learning curve because so much is packed in.” (Source)

“It never fixed our real problems like keyword cannibalization and kept telling us to create more content. Our positions got worse overall.” (Source)

“The LLM visibility feature was one reason we signed up, and it was later restricted and repriced without warning.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Starter: $99/month for 1 OTTO site, with no AI visibility
  • Growth: $199/month for 2 OTTO sites and AI visibility on ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Mode
  • Pro: $399/month for 4 OTTO sites and 6 AI platforms
  • Agency: from $999/month. Starter and Growth come with a 7-day trial.

10. Byword: best for programmatic SEO pages

Byword dashboard

Byword is an AI article writer that researches a keyword, writes a long-form article in your brand voice and publishes it to your CMS, with templates for programmatic SEO, which suits SaaS teams building integration, industry or use-case pages at scale. We haven't used Byword ourselves, so this section is based on its pricing page, changelog and Trustpilot reviews.

Byword relaunched as v2 in January 2026, rebuilt from the ground up. You can write one article at a time, or combine a template with a keyword list to generate pages like "[tool] integrations" or "X for [industry]" in bulk.

Each article gets a real-time SEO score, and you can pick GPT, Claude or Gemini models. Articles publish to WordPress, Webflow and four other CMSs, or go out through webhooks, Google Docs, Sheets or Notion.

Be careful with volume. Google's scaled content abuse policy targets pages mass-produced without real value, so each template needs real product data behind it. Byword doesn't track AI answers either.

Key features

  • Article generation. Research, outline and draft in one step, in 47 languages.
  • Programmatic SEO. Templates plus keyword lists for pages at scale.
  • Keyword explorer and research dashboard.
  • Voice matching, basic on the free plan and full on paid plans.
  • CMS publishing to WordPress, Webflow, Ghost, HubSpot and more, plus an API from Standard.

Where it falls short

  • No AI visibility tracking and no Search Console connection on the pricing page.
  • SaaS pages need accurate pricing, features and integration details, so an editor still checks every article.
  • Only 7 Trustpilot reviews, several about support and refunds.

User reviews

Byword has only a handful of public reviews, and the newer ones predate the v2 relaunch, so take these with that in mind.

“An amazing product, but an API CAPTCHA blocks us from automating the process, which we really need fixed.” (Source)

“Pretty sketchy. There's no support contact.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Starter: $99/month ($83 billed yearly) for 25 articles and 5 domains, solo use
  • Standard: $299/month ($249 billed yearly) for 80 articles, 3 seats and API access
  • Scale: $999/month ($833 billed yearly) for 300 articles and 10 seats
  • Every account starts with 5 free articles and no card. Unused credits carry over.

11. MarketMuse: best for topical authority planning

MarketMuse dashboard

MarketMuse is a content strategy platform that models topic coverage across your site and suggests what to write and update next, which suits SaaS content leads planning topic clusters around a product category. We haven't used MarketMuse ourselves, so this section is based on its pricing page and Capterra reviews.

Most tools here work one page at a time. MarketMuse starts from your site inventory, tracks topics across it and shows where your coverage is thin, so a quarter's content plan can follow product areas instead of single keywords.

It doesn't track AI answers, and its pricing page doesn't mention Search Console or GA4. Paid plans are sold through a demo, with no prices published.

Key features

  • Tracked topics. 100, 1,000 or 10,000 topics on Optimize, Research and Strategy.
  • Content Briefs. 5, 10 or 20 a month, depending on plan.
  • Content Score. A target score from MarketMuse's topic model.
  • Site inventory. Pages and topics across your site in one view.

Where it falls short

  • No AI visibility tracking.
  • No published prices for paid plans.
  • Planning and briefs only, with drafting and publishing done elsewhere.

User reviews

We've quoted every saved MarketMuse review before, so these two are different parts of earlier quotes.

“It shows which topics your competitors cover and gives an enterprise feel. You can't delete old projects, though.” (Source)

“The Optimize app helps me write content that can compete with the top 10. I got a good deal, and at full price I might be disappointed.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Free: 1 user, with no tracked topics or briefs
  • Optimize: demo only, 1 user, 100 tracked topics and 5 briefs a month
  • Research: demo only, 3 users, 1,000 topics and 10 briefs a month
  • Strategy: demo only, 5 users, 10,000 topics and 20 briefs a month
  • Buyers start in chatbots. In G2's March 2026 survey of 1,076 B2B decision makers, 51% said they start software research with an AI chatbot more often than with Google, and 69% picked a different vendor than planned because of a chatbot.
  • Almost every buyer uses AI. Forrester reported in January 2026 that 94% of business buyers use AI in their buying process.
  • AI visitors convert. AI search sent Ahrefs 0.5% of its visitors but 12.1% of its signups over 30 days in mid-2025, Ahrefs reported.
  • Google still matters. The "best X" and "X vs Y" pages that rank in Google are often the same pages AI answers cite, so SEO and AI visibility work on the same backlog.
