10 Best Content Harmony Alternatives in 2026 for Briefs, Writing and AI Search

Content Harmony alternatives are worth a look if you want the draft written and published after the brief, or a way to see whether ChatGPT and Google's AI answers mention your brand. Content Harmony builds research-backed briefs with search intent classification, custom templates and a content grader, with unlimited users from $50 a month. But it doesn't write or publish, its keyword data covers 9 countries with non-English results still listed as coming soon, and it shows AI Overviews in its keyword reports without tracking your brand in AI search.

These 10 Content Harmony alternatives include brief and research tools, live editors, graders, a topic strategy platform, budget writers and an agentic AI search platform. Prices checked in November 2026.

Editor's note

How we compared these Content Harmony alternatives

Content Harmony is a brief and grading tool priced per page, so we looked at each alternative on what a brief tool leaves out:

  • How it researches a topic, and whether writers get a brief, a live score or both
  • Whether it writes, publishes or tracks your brand in AI answers, and on which engines
  • Seats, credits and the real monthly cost next to Content Harmony's unlimited users

We've used Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit hands-on. Content Harmony and the other tools here aren't on our tested list, so we describe them from their pricing pages, docs, changelogs, archived pricing pages and user reviews. Review quotes are condensed from Trustpilot, TrustRadius, Capterra and WordPress.org and link to the original.

Orchly is our product. We held it to the same checks and say where it falls short. Checked November 2026.

1. Orchly: best Content Harmony alternative to turn briefs into cited content

Orchly Content Agent task board suggesting new articles and page refreshes based on AI visibility and organic data
Orchly's Content Agent turns data into tasks

Orchly is an agentic AI search optimization platform. It tracks your brand every day in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, with Gemini, Google AI Mode, Claude, Grok and Microsoft Copilot as paid add-ons, and also tracks Meta AI and DeepSeek. It reads answers from each engine's real interface rather than an API, and its agents run on their own, on a schedule.

They analyze your AI visibility, your competitors, your SEO and your Search Console and GA4 data, decide what to write and which pages to refresh, and write and refresh them in your brand voice. They keep Brand Brain up to date, find the sites, people and Reddit threads worth reaching, run the outreach and draft the replies, and audit your site for technical SEO and AI search issues with the fixes ranked. You decide how each agent works, fully on its own or waiting for your approval.

Content Harmony gives your writers a strong brief and leaves the rest to your team. Orchly's agents run the work end to end, from the topic to the published page, the outreach and the site fixes, from $49 a month.

Topic, draft, publish

  • Content Agent. Runs on a schedule, picks what to write and refresh from Search Console decay and AI citation gaps, and drafts each article in your brand voice, on its own or after your approval, as you choose.

Drafting in your brand voice
  • Brand Brain. Your products, audience, voice and writing rules, applied to every draft much like a brief template, and kept up to date by the agents.
Orchly Brand Brain storing brand profile, products, audience, competitors, voice and knowledge sources
Brand Brain
  • Publishing. Straight to WordPress, Webflow, Framer, Wix, Sanity or Ghost, directly or after your approval.

Intent, for search and AI

  • Prompts by brand and intent. AI prompts tagged commercial, informational or transactional, and branded or non-branded, alongside Search Console topic clusters.

Measuring the result

  • AI visibility and Search Console. Daily tracking on ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews, with Gemini, AI Mode, Claude, Grok and Copilot as add-ons (Orchly also tracks Meta AI and DeepSeek), read from each engine's real interface, next to clicks, conversions and revenue from Search Console and GA4.

Outreach and site health

  • Activation Agent. Finds the publishers, people and Reddit threads AI cites, runs the outreach and drafts the replies.
  • Site Health Agent. Audits your site for technical SEO and AI search issues and ranks the fixes by impact.

Where Orchly falls short

  • No standalone brief builder. If your writers need detailed briefs to work from, Content Harmony is better at that.
  • Fewer seats. Content Harmony includes unlimited users on every plan. Orchly Essential includes 1 and Pro includes 5.
  • Fewer engines in the base price. Gemini, AI Mode, Claude, Grok and Copilot are paid add-ons on every Orchly plan.

Orchly pricing

  • Essential: $49/month for 25 prompts, 20 articles, 1 site and 1 user
  • Pro: $125/month for 100 prompts, 50 articles, 3 sites and 5 users, with AI traffic analytics, custom agents and white-label reports
  • Enterprise: custom, with a customer success manager
  • There's a 7-day free trial, and yearly billing saves 25%.

2. Frase: best briefs plus writing

Frase content research and optimization

Frase is a content research and optimization platform with an AI agent that builds briefs, writes drafts, scores them for SEO and GEO and publishes them, plus daily AI visibility tracking from $39 a month billed yearly, which suits small teams that want the steps after a Content Harmony brief in the same tool. We haven't used Frase ourselves, so this section draws on its pricing page, changelog and reviews.

The research side will feel familiar. Frase pulls the top results, headings and questions for a keyword into a brief, much like Content Harmony's keyword report. The difference is what happens next: you ask the agent for the page, and it drafts it, scores it and can send it to your CMS.

Frase rebuilt the whole platform in early 2026, so older reviews describe a different product.

AI tracking is included. Starter checks 20 prompts a day on ChatGPT and Google AI, Professional adds Perplexity, and Claude and Gemini need the $239 Scale plan. Content Harmony only shows the AI Overviews that appear in search results.

Key features

  • Frase agent. Research, briefs, drafts and edits from plain-language requests.
  • SEO and GEO scores. Each draft is scored for Google and for AI search.
  • AI Visibility. 20, 50 or 75 prompts tracked daily, rebuilt in October 2026 with sentiment and PDF reports.
  • Content Guard. Watches 10 to 300 live pages for decay, depending on plan.
  • API, MCP server and CLI on every plan.

Where it falls short

  • 1 seat on Starter and 3 on Professional, where Content Harmony has unlimited users on every plan.
  • Starter tracks only ChatGPT and Google AI.
  • Lifetime-deal customers were moved to a legacy app, and some say on Trustpilot that this broke the deal.

User reviews

Most reviews of the rebuilt Frase have already appeared in our other comparisons, so these two describe the version before the 2026 rebuild.

“It connects to Google Search Console to improve existing content and suggest what to publish next. The brief and outline process takes some getting used to before results are consistent.” (Source)

“I didn't use my subscription for seven months and got no renewal reminder. Only the last month was refunded.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Starter: $39/month billed yearly ($49 monthly) for 1 seat, 10 articles and 20 prompts on ChatGPT and Google AI
  • Professional: $103/month billed yearly ($129 monthly) for 3 seats, 40 articles and 50 prompts, adding Perplexity
  • Scale: $239/month billed yearly ($299 monthly) for 5 seats, 100 articles and 75 prompts, adding Claude and Gemini
  • Every plan has a 7-day free trial with no card. Enterprise is custom.

3. Surfer: best live editor

Surfer content editor

Surfer is a content optimization platform built around a live Content Editor that scores a draft for Google and AI search as you type, with AI visibility tracking from its $99 Standard plan, which suits writers who want guidance inside the draft rather than in a brief they read first. We haven't used Surfer ourselves, so this section is based on its pricing page, changelog and Trustpilot reviews.

Content Harmony hands a writer a brief and grades the result at the end. Surfer puts the brief, the term list and the score in the editor itself, in Surfer, Google Docs or WordPress, and since May 2026 that score covers Google and AI search together.

It also writes. The AI writer and Auto-Optimize can draft a page or fill gaps in one, which Content Harmony doesn't do.

AI tracking is thin on the cheaper plans. Standard checks 25 ChatGPT prompts once a week. Daily tracking on ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Mode, AI Overviews and Gemini starts on Pro at $182 a month billed yearly, or $82 for the tracking-only AI Search Analytics plan.

Key features

  • Content Editor and Content Score. Live scoring for Google and AI search, with Auto-Optimize to close the gaps.
  • AI writer. Full drafts from a keyword, edited in the same editor.
  • AI Tracker. 25 weekly ChatGPT prompts on Standard, 50 daily prompts on five engines on Pro.
  • Integrations. Google Docs, WordPress and Contentful.
  • MCP server on Pro and higher since October 2026.

Where it falls short

  • Seats are capped by plan (1 on Discovery, 3 on Standard), while Content Harmony includes unlimited users.
  • No Claude, Grok or Copilot tracking.
  • The 7-day Pro trial needs a card and turns into a paid plan unless you cancel.

User reviews

“I was sceptical, so I tested it: 22 pages built to Surfer's recommendations, with no links or promotion, still rank and bring in traffic.” (Source)

“Easy to use even with no SEO knowledge, but extra AI credits were cost prohibitive for me, and there's no way to pause the account.” (Source)

“Great for English, but weak at analyzing Spanish content.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Discovery: $49/month billed yearly ($59 monthly), with no AI tracking
  • Standard: $99/month billed yearly ($119 monthly) for 25 ChatGPT prompts checked weekly
  • Pro: $182/month billed yearly ($219 monthly) for 50 daily prompts on five engines
  • AI Search Analytics: $82/month billed yearly ($95 monthly). New accounts get a 7-day Pro trial with a card.

4. Clearscope: best grader

Clearscope content grading

Clearscope is a content grading tool that scores drafts from F to A++ inside Google Docs and WordPress, with unlimited users and tracked queries in AI answers, which suits editorial teams that like Content Harmony's grader and want brand tracking in AI search too. We haven't used Clearscope ourselves, so this section draws on its pricing page, product pages and TrustRadius reviews.

It's the closest match here for teams that work with freelance writers. Both tools include unlimited users, and both hand a writer a list of terms and topics to cover. Clearscope's grade lives in the writer's Google Doc, so nobody has to log into another app.

Content Harmony bills by workflow. Clearscope bills by a monthly allowance of Discoveries, Drafts and tracked pages, and at $129 it costs more than Content Harmony's $99 plan for 12 workflows.

AI tracking is included. Essentials tracks 50 queries, and the product pages list ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude, although the pricing page still names only the first two.

Key features

  • Content grades. F to A++ against the terms and topics the top results cover.
  • Google Docs add-on and WordPress plugin. The grade shows up where writers work.
  • Tracked queries. Brand mentions in ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude over time.
  • Content Inventory. Grades and Search Console clicks for your live pages.
  • Unlimited users and projects on every plan.

Where it falls short

  • 20 drafts a month on Essentials, with extra drafts sold in packs of 10.
  • No AI writer or publishing.
  • No Perplexity, AI Overviews or AI Mode tracking.

User reviews

“It's hard to teach freelancers to optimize without sounding like robots. With Clearscope their drafts needed only minor tweaks and ranked better than the ones I optimized by hand.” (Source)

“Great for research and grading, but the cost is a little prohibitive for small teams, and users who ran reports wrong lost credits, though Clearscope refunded them.” (Source)

“A lot of bugs in the content brief.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Essentials: $129/month for 50 tracked queries, 50 pages, 20 Discoveries and 20 Drafts
  • Business: $399/month for 300 tracked queries, 300 pages and 50 Discoveries
  • Enterprise: custom, with SSO and custom credits
  • There's a 14-day free trial and no contract.

5. MarketMuse: best for topic strategy

MarketMuse topic modeling

MarketMuse is a content strategy platform that models topic coverage across your whole site, scores content against it and produces briefs, which suits content strategists who want to plan a whole site rather than brief one page at a time. We haven't used MarketMuse ourselves, so this section is based on its pricing page and TrustRadius reviews.

Content Harmony starts from one keyword. MarketMuse starts from your site: it inventories your pages, shows topic authority and a personalized difficulty score for each topic, and tells you what to write or update next.

Its briefs are the other overlap. Paid plans include 5 to 20 a month, with nine brief types on Strategy.

Paid plans are sold by demo, so you won't see a price until you talk to sales, and the pricing page doesn't list any AI search tracking. The site now calls it MarketMuse by Siteimprove.

Key features

  • Topic modeling and Inventory. Your site's topic coverage, authority and gaps.
  • Personalized Difficulty. Difficulty scored for your own site, not a generic number.
  • Content Score and Optimize. Term coverage scored as you write.
  • Content briefs. 5, 10 or 20 a month on paid plans.
  • Free plan with 1 user and 10 queries a month.

Where it falls short

  • No public prices on paid plans.
  • 1 to 5 users per plan, against Content Harmony's unlimited users.
  • No AI visibility tracking or publishing listed.

User reviews

“The heatmap comparing your article with the top-ranking ones is invaluable. Its internal link suggestions are rarely relevant, though.” (Source)

“Once you get the hang of it there's no going back, but the interface could be friendlier, and it can be pricey for small businesses.” (Source)

“It really shines when refreshing old content. Just don't stuff keywords to hit a score.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Free: $0 for 1 user and 10 queries a month
  • Optimize: 1 user, 100 tracked topics and 5 briefs a month, price by demo
  • Research: 3 users, 1,000 tracked topics, 10 briefs and unlimited queries, price by demo
  • Strategy: 5 users, 10,000 tracked topics and 20 briefs, price by demo

6. NEURONwriter: best cheap editor

NEURONwriter content editor

NEURONwriter is a low-cost NLP content editor that scores drafts against the competitor pages you pick, from $23 a month, with a small AI visibility tracker on every plan, which suits bloggers and freelancers who want brief-style research and writing in one cheap tool. We haven't used NEURONwriter ourselves, so this section is based on its pricing page, FAQ, update board and Trustpilot reviews.

For a Content Harmony user, the research will look similar: competitor headings, terms and questions for a keyword. You choose which top-ranking pages to learn from, then write in its editor with a target score, or let its AI draft sections.

The entry price is low. Bronze costs $23 a month for 25 documents, against Content Harmony's $50 for 5 workflows, and first plans can be refunded within 30 days.

AI tracking is narrow. Every plan monitors 5 to 20 questions a month in Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, and ChatGPT and Perplexity cost extra, from $9 a month.

Key features

  • NLP content editor. Terms, headings and questions from the competitor pages you choose.
  • AI writing. Drafts and rewrites on monthly AI credits.
  • AI Visibility Standard. 5 to 20 questions a month in AI Overviews and AI Mode.
  • AI Monitoring add-on. Adds ChatGPT and Perplexity, from $9 a month.
  • Integrations, API and MCP from Gold at $69, with unlimited team members.

Where it falls short

  • No Claude or Gemini tracking, and ChatGPT is a paid add-on.
  • Search Console, WordPress and Shopify integrations only from Gold.
  • The AI visibility allowance is small, 5 to 20 questions a month.

User reviews

“ChatGPT did a poor job on SEO. This finally showed me the competitor keywords and how to use them without stuffing.” (Source)

“I rewrite against the score in real time and see competitors as soon as I enter a keyword. The free plan only covers 3 posts, but that's enough to learn it.” (Source)

“The new API makes it easy to hook up to automation platforms.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Bronze: $23/month for 2 projects, 25 documents and 5 AI-monitored questions
  • Silver: $45/month for 5 projects, 50 documents and 7 questions
  • Gold: $69/month for 10 projects, 75 documents, 10 questions, unlimited team members and integrations
  • Yearly billing gives 2 months free. The 7-day trial runs on Gold, and first plans can be refunded within 30 days.

7. Dashword: best lightweight editor

Dashword content editor

Dashword is a lightweight content brief and optimization tool with free, unlimited content scoring and an API and MCP server on every plan, which suits small teams that want Content Harmony-style briefs they can also run from an AI agent. We haven't used Dashword ourselves, so this section is based on its pricing page and product pages.

The brief covers competitor outlines, keywords and questions, and you can share it with a writer. Scoring is free and unlimited, so only new content reports count against your monthly allowance.

The MCP server is the main difference. You can hand a brief to Claude, Cursor or Codex, ask for a draft and score it until it's ready, without leaving the agent.

It's priced higher than Content Harmony at the bottom. Startup costs $99 a month for 30 reports and 5 seats, and there's no AI visibility tracking.

Key features

  • Content briefs. Competitor outlines, keywords and questions, shareable with writers.
  • Content scoring. Free and unlimited, with a Google Docs add-on.
  • Content monitoring. Traffic-drop alerts, weekly keyword reports and a rank tracker.
  • AI Writer. 100,000 words on Startup.
  • API and MCP server on every plan, including free accounts.

Where it falls short

  • No AI search visibility tracking.
  • 5 seats on Startup, against Content Harmony's unlimited users.
  • Business starts at $349/month for bulk reports and SSO.

User reviews

We couldn't find Dashword reviews on Trustpilot, Product Hunt or TrustRadius to quote.

Pricing

  • Startup: $99/month for 30 content reports, 5 seats and 100,000 AI Writer words
  • Business: from $349/month for 100 reports, 10 seats, bulk reports and SSO
  • Your first report is free with no card, and yearly billing saves 20% if you ask.

8. PageOptimizer Pro: best technical scoring

PageOptimizer Pro on-page recommendations

PageOptimizer Pro (POP) is an on-page SEO tool that tells you how many times each term belongs in the title, headings and body, based on its own ranking tests, with an AI Visibility Tracker and the POP Pilot agent on every plan, which suits SEOs who want exact instructions rather than a writer's brief. We haven't used POP ourselves, so this section is based on its pricing page, blog and archived pricing pages.

It goes much deeper on a single page than Content Harmony. You get keyword counts by page section, word count targets, entities, schema and E-E-A-T checks, and a Chrome extension shows them inside Google Docs, WordPress and other editors.

The trade-off is readability. POP's reports are dense and written for the person optimizing the page, so they're harder to hand to a freelance writer than a Content Harmony brief.

Most features run on POP Credits. The AI tracker covers ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity, but each run costs 3 credits plus 1 per question, and it refreshes weekly at most.

Key features

  • POP reports. Term counts and targets by page section, from POP's ranking tests.
  • AI Visibility Tracker. Six engines, run once, weekly or monthly on credits.
  • POP Pilot. An AI SEO agent, launched in August 2026, that runs reports, schema and AI Writer drafts inside POP.
  • Watchdog. Monitors your pages and flags changes.
  • Chrome extension for Google Docs, WordPress and other editors.

Where it falls short

  • Credits cover the AI tracker, AI Writer and extra reports, so costs grow with use.
  • The AI tracker refreshes weekly at most.
  • Nothing publishes to your site automatically.

User reviews

We've already quoted the recent PageOptimizer Pro reviews on Capterra and Trustpilot in other comparisons, so we're not repeating them here. POP has a 5.0 rating on Capterra from 74 reviews, and the common complaints are credits, the learning curve and the interface.

Pricing

  • Basic: $40/month for 20 POP Credits, 10 Watchdog pages and unlimited domains
  • Unlimited: $72/month, or $62 billed yearly, for unlimited POP reports and 50 credits
  • Teams: $143/month, or $119 billed yearly, for 120 credits, 5 sub-accounts and white-label PDF reports
  • Every plan has a 7-day refund guarantee.

9. Scalenut: best budget bundle

Scalenut content optimization

Scalenut is a budget content platform that bundles briefs, GEO article writing, an optimizer and weekly AI visibility tracking in one plan from $59 a month, which suits small teams that want the article written, not just briefed. We haven't used Scalenut ourselves, so this section is based on its pricing page, archived pricing pages, terms and reviews.

Next to Content Harmony, Scalenut is about output. Starter includes 5 GEO articles a month, and Plus includes 30 and publishes to WordPress and Shopify.

AI tracking is included on every plan, refreshed weekly. Starter and Plus track ChatGPT and AI Overviews, and Perplexity needs the $199 Professional plan.

The yearly Black Friday early access deal brings Starter down to $21 a month with triple limits, but it's annual only and non-refundable. Scalenut has a 3.2 TrustScore on Trustpilot, and its one-star reviews are about billing, cancelling and support.

Key features

  • GEO articles. 5, 30 or 75 a month, with auto-publishing from Plus.
  • AI visibility tracking. 10, 25 or 100 prompts, refreshed weekly.
  • Content optimizer. NLP and GEO scoring for new and existing pages.
  • Social Upreach and Backlinks Marketplace. Reddit monitoring and link buying from Plus.
  • Topic clusters on every plan.

Where it falls short

  • AI tracking refreshes weekly on every plan.
  • 1 workspace on Starter and 4 team members on Plus.
  • No refunds after the 7-day trial, and the yearly deal is non-refundable.

User reviews

The negative Scalenut reviews we found are already quoted in our other comparisons, and these two are from 2022.

“We used to research the competition and outline briefs by hand. Now Scalenut builds the brief in minutes with a little editing.” (Source)

“I don't write whole articles with it. It's best at generating paragraphs for specific sections.” (Source)

Pricing

  • Starter: $59/month for 10 weekly prompts on ChatGPT and AI Overviews, 5 GEO articles and 1 workspace
  • Plus: $89/month for 25 weekly prompts, 30 articles, 4 team members and auto-publishing
  • Professional: $199/month for 100 weekly prompts, adding Perplexity, with 75 articles
  • The yearly deal takes 65% off ($21, $31 or $70 a month) and is non-refundable. There's a 7-day free trial.

10. Semrush SEO Writing Assistant: best inside Semrush

Semrush SEO Writing Assistant

The Semrush SEO Writing Assistant is a content scoring add-on for Google Docs, WordPress and Microsoft Word that grades drafts on SEO, readability, originality and tone using Semrush's keyword data, which suits teams that already pay for Semrush and want a grader without another subscription.

We've used Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit for other reviews, not the Writing Assistant, so this section draws on the Semrush help center and the plugin's WordPress.org reviews.

It's a grader, not a brief builder. It compares your draft with the top 10 Google results and suggests keywords, a length and a readability target, but it won't give you Content Harmony's intent analysis or a brief template.

AI visibility is a separate purchase. In the AI Visibility Toolkit, Prompt Research was the part we found most useful, but 25 prompts per domain for $99 a month felt tight. Semrush One plans start at $199 with 50 prompts.

Key features

  • Real-time scoring. SEO, readability, originality and tone of voice for each draft.
  • Add-ons for Google Docs, WordPress and Microsoft Word 365.
  • Recommended keywords from Semrush's keyword database.
  • Compose, Rephrase and Ask AI. AI writing tools on Smart Writer Words.
  • Plagiarism checker. Limited checks on lower tiers.

Where it falls short

  • 2 documents per account on the entry tier, per the help center.
  • It scores drafts but doesn't build a brief for the writer.
  • AI tracking is a separate $99 toolkit per domain.

User reviews

“Very convenient, and it loads fast.” (Source)

“After the update everything asks you to pay or start a 7-day trial. I liked the free readability help, so I went back to Yoast.” (Source)

Pricing

  • SEO plan: $139/month, or $117.33 billed yearly
  • Semrush One Starter: $199/month with 50 AI prompts, or $299 for Pro+ with 100
  • AI Visibility Toolkit: $99/month per domain, billed yearly, for 25 prompts
  • Semrush has a free plan with limited data, and paid SEO plans start with a 7-day trial.

Content Harmony pricing in 2026

Content Harmony prices by how many pages you plan each month. Each Content Workflow includes a keyword report, a content brief and a content grader for one page. These are the plans on its pricing page in November 2026, and archived copies show the same prices since at least January 2025.

  • Standard 5: $50/month, or about $42 billed yearly, for 5 workflows
  • Standard 12: $99/month, or about $89 billed yearly, for 12 workflows
  • Standard 25: $199/month, or about $179 billed yearly, for 25 workflows
  • Standard 50, 100 and 150: $299, $599 and $799 a month
  • Enterprise: from $1,000/month for 200+ workflows, with procurement support
  • Trial: $10 for 10 workflows, with no time limit and no automatic billing
  • Every plan: unlimited users and projects, free team training, and credits that stay valid for 90 days

Its product updates page has no posts in 2026. The last two were the full API in December 2025, with 20+ endpoints across keyword reports, briefs and the grader, and an option to copy grader terms in October 2025. AI Overviews have shown up in keyword reports since March 2025.

When to stay with Content Harmony

  • Your writers work from detailed briefs, and you want your own brief templates.
  • You want search intent broken down for each keyword before anyone writes.
  • You need unlimited users at a low price, for example for an agency with many freelancers.
  • You publish a predictable number of pages a month and like credits that last 90 days.
